It's a small independent perfume and makeup shop. I'm friendly with the two ladies who work there: we're on first name terms and we'll usually have a bit of a chat if it's not busy. They're always really lovely with me: have helped me source some stuff that was sold out and they're invariably very generous with samples and free gifts.
I thought it might be nice to say thank you with a box of posh chocolates at Christmas, but when I mentioned it to my mum she said it wasn't sure it'd be a good idea and it might come across the wrong way. So, those of you working in retail, would you appreciate it if a customer brought you a small Christmas token, or would you find it patronising?
