I know some councils are sending out directives to put a stop to all of this. Good. I hope it becomes the standard. Its not about disliking teachers its about it being unethical, and also a blatant way to curry favour. Although I suspect money sheep will deny that. I wonder how parents who really can't afford to donate feel about it. Preventing it all is the best way, break up the herd

I have 1 teacher and 2 TAs. I gave £20 for the teacher and £10 each for the TAs. No idea what the others gave - there wasn't a recommended amount.

Our class representative recommended a £5 donation either per head or as a combined total. Then it's upto you to either give £10 or £5 or whatever you can afford. £10 per head is excessive in my opinion. Whatever is raised is split equally down the middle and given as gift vouchers.
