grated sprouts with added chestnut and or bacon. Seen these recipes, one friend even added a drop of champagne! Xmas Shock
Gone so far as to quarter them and sauté (Hoh yes! I can be modern but grating? (Would fear for my fingertips apart from anything else).
Anyone a grater? Smile

Oh look at the extra little bracket! Sorry grammarians. Also have stuffed a mushroom and life didn't seem to short for that. Sprouts, grated though?

Grate them while still on the tree, much easier than you are picturing

willdoitinaminute · 08/12/2017 20:07

Steam them whole in a colander over the carrots. They will come out perfectly aldente and a lovely fresh green colour. As a good friend of mine used to say “ life’s too short to stuff mushrooms” !

Life is too short to be eating sprouts let alone grating them

SweetChickadee · 08/12/2017 20:11

yep - food processor.

shove them down the spout, job's a good'un.

MiraiDevant · 08/12/2017 20:13

Shred them with the slicer in the food processor

Ceebs85 · 08/12/2017 20:13

Food processor. No-one would grate by hand. I'd lose a finger, at least.

I think the fact you have to grate them/ cut them up and cook them with bacon and chestnuts just proved they’re too rank to be considered proper food. Just eat chestnuts and bacon and give the sprouts to the rabbits. Even the rabbits aren’t that keen on them.

Dog quite likes them (in tiny doses, raw and
chopped obvs)
