To put a gift voucher in the secret Santa?

What do you think? Personally I'd rather receive a voucher than something I might not want.

Make it an Amazon voucher & I'd be happy. Miles better than toiletries or chocolates.

On what planet could that possibly be unreasonable? Confused

I think that's fine. We use the Elfster app at work. My SS has asked for a novel, or chocolate. I love reading so have chosen a book I think he'll enjoy but deliberately bought it from a department store with a great returns policy so he can exchange the book for cash, food, clothes and loads of other stuff until mid Jan. A gift card is a great idea; I'd get an Amazon one.

I once observed someone be getting an m and s voucher who was delighted as they'd spend it on more Xmas food. The next year I thought I'd copy that idea and the receiver was appalled at the 'laziness'.

Personally I'd be delighted, but there's no pleasing some people.

I once observed someone be getting an m and s voucher who was delighted as they'd spend it on more Xmas food. My sentiments entirely! 😝

I'm going to go against the grain and say no. I always put lots of thought into secret santa and last year I got to watch everyone open nice gifts whilst I got a £10 Debenhams gift card. There's not even much you can buy from Debenhams for a tenner, so I ended up spending another £30 on something I otherwise wouldn't have bought as I don't shop there.

It's certainly better than getting another shower gel set or some old tat but I'd keep it as a backup and try and buy something more personal.
