I've just had a crisp sandwich. The only ones we had in the house were BBQ Transformers.

Between 2 slices of buttered bread with a squirt of mayo. Oh. My. God. Food if the gods.

How on Earth have I not had one of these until now!

AIBU to eat these for the remainder of December?

Great thread!
Kingsmill soft white medium sliced , slice of mature cheddar, add Walkers. Butter optional ! :D

Congrats O.P Brew

littleredrobbin · 08/12/2017 17:26

Ooooooh yes! I haven't had one of these since I was pregnant!!!

Cheese and onion walkers in white bread, loads of butter and a nice cuppa tea!

Heaven!

StarWarsFanatic · 08/12/2017 17:27

Mini Chedders and banana on sandwiches used to be one of my and my Grandad's favourites as a child but haven't had them in years.

ToadOfSadness · 08/12/2017 17:27

ShotsFired

ToadOfSadness ^Try a cheese and crisp sandwich, gives it more oomph

Might I suggest a little coleslaw for even more oomph? Waitrose essentials for choice, as follows:

Dirty white bread
Coleslaw
Cheese
Crisps

Dirty white bread^

Yes, coleslaw, the thick gloopy stuff, but the filling falls out so need a large chopping board rather than a plate.

Also HP sauce, cheese and crisps (not with coleslaw though).

Or with cheese and Jalapeno peppers from a jar, sliced and very hot.

Or cream cheese and peanut butter. I always use ready salted crisps.

Ginkypig · 08/12/2017 17:34

My choice has become my Saturday or Sunday lunchtime treat. The rest of the week I have a stupid normal lunch.

Leaspr · 08/12/2017 17:34

White bread, butter, cheese, Walkers crisps (usually Cheese&Onion or Ready Salted) and salad cream. Delish.

Valerrie · 08/12/2017 17:38

I have experimented a lot with this.

My favourite it a wotsit sandwich on white with real butter and a scrape of mustard. Alas, I can't eat bread any more. I'd kill for one.

Also, twiglets dunked in Philadelphia are the food of the gods.

Speaking of Philadelphia, spread it on a tuc cracker with a thin slice of cucumber and you will thank me.

I was also partial to digestive biscuits spread with marmite and a chunk of mature cheddar.

extinctspecies · 08/12/2017 17:42

Rice krispies or cornflakes also make quite a good sandwich.

Fekko · 08/12/2017 17:44

How did you never know about this?

NootNoot · 08/12/2017 17:46

TicketyTock you're killing me.

Also Tayto Smokey Bacon....drools...

user1497997754 · 08/12/2017 17:48

Marmite crisp sandwiches are lush

fidgettt · 08/12/2017 17:49

Whole meal bread
Marge
Very tiny bit of salad cream
Sliced processed cheese
A few sliced cherry tomatoes
Ready salted crisps

Bliss. Might have one for dinner actually!

lazarusb · 08/12/2017 17:50

Peppered salami and ready salted.

Egg mayo with Frazzles.

Bliss Smile

squishee · 08/12/2017 17:51

Yhbu until this momentous day. Food of the gods!

katseyes7 · 08/12/2017 17:52

Lovely thick white sliced bread, buttered, with Marmite crisps. Food of the gods!

DoubleNegativePanda · 08/12/2017 17:55

I can't get my head around this. I accept that this is apparently a thing in the UK, and I'm American, but are you all really talking about a sandwich of bread, butter and potato crisps (chips to me)? Really?

And y'all talk all the time about the hideous things we eat! Now I know. You're full of shit and eat absolute crap as well!

planbatman · 08/12/2017 18:00

tickety have to agree. Although half a bag of Tayto salt and vinegar, half a bag of Tayto smokey bacon, chuck it in a Belfast bap and wash down with tea or Sukie. Great hangover cure.

Hushabyelullaby · 08/12/2017 18:01

i'm properly craving a crisp sandwich now! My preference is salt and vinegar on buttered cheap white bread.

To the person who mentioned fish finger sandwiches....I LOVE them. They are quite a usual thing though (aren't they? or is it just me?). I'm partial to a fish finger sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and chili mayo.

tallulahwullah · 08/12/2017 18:03

Primula on white bread with cheesy doritos😜

Valerrie · 08/12/2017 18:03

YABU eating a fish finger sandwich without ketchup.

newyearnewme80 · 08/12/2017 18:05

YANBU crisp sandwiches are brilliant.. also good wotsit bagels!

MissTeri · 08/12/2017 18:05

DoubleNegativePanda I can't take that kind of criticism from someone whose country who eats gravy and biscuits Envy

Miraclesparklestars · 08/12/2017 18:06

I love a crisp sandwich!

Only buttered white bread with either:

Walkers salt and vinegar

or
Walkers prawn cocktail with strawberry jam - only strawberry!

DancingHouse · 08/12/2017 18:07

Mature cheddar with sweet pickle and salt n vinegar crisps on white bread sandwich.

Valerrie · 08/12/2017 18:13

@MissTeri

They don't eat dippy eggs with soldiers either. Like, wtf?
