I keep seeing people saying they've name changed for a thread etc. but surely the story they tell is outing anyway?
Or is there something I'm missing?

You can't search on the app as far as I can see so maybe some posters don't know about that but I would have thought it's obvious about things being linked to your normal name.

Then why say "I've name changed for this"? Surely if no one can track them to their original name, then no one can actually tell that they have name changed anyway so what's the point?

It makes me laugh when people say NC for this been her for ages Maui, Mexican House Thief, EKL. I haven't been here for that long and I know what all of those three are referencing

Just allow others to view your profile and it will say when you joined. This will be proof they are a long time member and not some goady fucker who registered today. All you have to do is click on the user name to view the profile info.

Well yes if someone you know IRL is on here and the post is outing then. Then yes if they do open up the thread there's a good change they'll know it's you. As pp says. People do it so it doesn't connect up to their other threads.

Name changed 'naaaice ham' & 'Pom bears' (I've never read those threads but know I need to quote them when name changing )

Its scaring me that I've been lurking long enough to remember the origins of both 'Naice ham' and 'pom bears' along with cutted up pear and cube of poo. Long, long before even penis beaker! I've been around far too long, just not posting much!
