Help settle a debate.

Best British accent for me is northern Welsh. especially in men but I'm also a sucker for Geordie and a nice light brummie.

An example of a Newfoundland accent.

falange · 03/12/2017 10:28

I love hearing men with proper broad cockney accents. Very sexy. On women I think a Somerset/Bristol type accent is nice

dameglittersparkles · 03/12/2017 10:30

Mancunian and f**king proud 🙋🏻

BobbinThreadbare123 · 03/12/2017 10:38

I like all accents except the Jafaican type stuff.

I work in S Cumbria and there is an audible change in accent that spans one A road here. You can tell which town or village someone comes from. There are lots of Scots here too (which is always nice to listen to in all its varieties).

I'm a posh Scouser. I know many of you believe that isn't possible but we just have a gentler accent than central Liverpool. There's quite a difference between generations in Merseyside too; it's to do with pollution reducing now the heavy industry is largely gone.

South Wales, specifically, the accent the comedian Elis James has. I think it's beautiful.

Dowser · 03/12/2017 10:53

Southern welsh / Cardiff area. Very lilting.
I also like a bit of broad Yorks and lancs
Love the Somerset/ Dorset accent too

LivLemler · 03/12/2017 10:54

On a separate issue, it must be utterly rage inducing to be Irish and see people say they like 'southern Irish' accents on a thread asking for your favourite British accent.

Yes, yes it is!

I love most Scottish accents, and the softer NI ones.

TonicAndTonic · 03/12/2017 10:58

I love the Bristol accent!

Dowser · 03/12/2017 11:06

I’m getting quite proud of the fact, despite not being welsh, I caidentify a Pontypridd accent from a cardiff one

WashingMatilda · 03/12/2017 11:08

' European accent' that's hilarious Grin Grin

RP first, have a DH with one that's quite deep, people have remarked on how lovely his voice is.

Soft Scottish

I always loved Richard Burtons voice.

PoncyCanapes · 03/12/2017 11:13

Scouse. Love it. Its such a warm accent.

Proper, old fashioned cockney. You dont hear it much these days.

eloisesparkle · 03/12/2017 11:15

Are Geordie and Welsh a little similar ?
I like both.
I really dislike Scottish and have discovered that I'm Scottish on my estranged father's side. My surname is Scottish.

itssquidstella · 03/12/2017 11:33

RP for me.

FuzzyCustard · 03/12/2017 11:34

RP

NeverSurrender · 03/12/2017 11:41

Lovely West Country accent!

MollyHuaCha · 03/12/2017 11:55

English spoken by an Italian native.

TheHungryDonkey · 03/12/2017 12:01

I have a strong Bristollian accent and it grates on my own ears. I had elocution lessons at school and can do RP but the bugger keeps breaking into conversation.

The Welsh accent is lovely.

kaitlinktm · 03/12/2017 12:03

If anyone can't make up their mind perhaps this will help:

Jaxhog · 03/12/2017 12:05

Soft Scottish and North Yorkshire for me.

pupchewsleg · 03/12/2017 12:08

West country/Somerset. Not my accent but it's accent I associate with low stress, acceptance and calm.

I'm so surprised that so many people have said scouse, I always thought everyone hated our accent!
I like a Geordie accent and some welsh.

Montsti · 03/12/2017 12:19

Geordie

Leslieknope123 · 03/12/2017 12:22
