To be worried how I will manage to work until I am 67?

I am in my mid fifties. I already get more tired than I used to when younger. I wonder how I am going to manage to work full time until I am 67 years old. And continue to do my share of cooking, cleaning, family stuff and actually having some fun.

Gosh, me! I'm not usually one to pull up people on being nasty, but, itsonkyme, I think you're not doing yourself a great service by name-calling. Better to calmly explain your point. I think anger and snippyness just fuels anger and snippyness in others. Being misunderstood is not nice, but better rise above it, especially as you can see why some would be sensitive (re cancer "fighting"). A bit of empathy would not go amiss.

Expat doesn't move her words, but I doubt her comment was nothing but in jest. She raises a fair point, though. About terrible inequality, that is. And, how a prison could be an alternative to some who might otherwise be homeless on streets (it happens even now).

ConfusedLivingDoll · 29/11/2017 19:41

"Move" should be "mince", of course...

I've also been party to advocating right to die. Oh, dear.

ConfusedLivingDoll · 29/11/2017 19:43

We'll, we've talked about allsorts on this thread. Black humour arife!

endehors · 29/11/2017 19:43

I suspect expat isn't seriously plotting and planning robbery or inciting others to do the same.

ConfusedLivingDoll · 29/11/2017 19:46

I think it will be inevitable that at some point we will get a right to die, as secularity is rising and as is the population age, which brings in many untreatable(or too costly or hard to treat)/agonising diseases. But how long that takes? No idea. So, can anyone answer me on the selling my kidney issue or should I just Google?

NooNooHead · 29/11/2017 19:48

Itsonly Thank you for referring to those of us grieving for loved ones as ‘morons’. Really nice. We’re sorry we misread / misinterpreted your post about being positive... Hmm

I’m glad you are fully recovered from cancer but you don’t sound very positive, and are being quite rude in some of your posts.

Incitatus · 29/11/2017 19:50

You wouldn’t go to jail for robbing £200,000 anyway. You’d have to do a far far worse crime than that Grin

Incitatus · 29/11/2017 19:51

I don’t think you’re allowed to sell your kidney in this country Confused.

Turquoise123 · 29/11/2017 19:52

I can't think that anyone is NOT worried about this ?

It's miserable

ConfusedLivingDoll · 29/11/2017 19:53

Oh, boo. I kind of knew it, though.

Incitatus · 29/11/2017 19:54

Perhaps if you were to conduct an international auction, after getting it tissue typed, then you could travel to the country of the winner Smile

Incitatus · 29/11/2017 19:54

I offer to be your manager and I want 15% Wink

ConfusedLivingDoll · 29/11/2017 19:55

Hey, that's an idea! Wink

ConfusedLivingDoll · 29/11/2017 19:56

I've a business degree, so will be MD myself, thanks! You can get a lump sum of 50 pound for the idea. As a courtesy.

expatinscotland · 29/11/2017 19:57

'I suspect expat isn't seriously plotting and planning robbery or inciting others to do the same.'

No way when I know I've got 200 click coming to me! Beneficent Stranger, please stand up!

Incitatus · 29/11/2017 19:58

£50? Shock

Aw, me sad now Sad

Incitatus · 29/11/2017 20:00

Who else is having visions of us all as cranky oldies with duff hips barking at people over the phone whilst working in call centres? Grin

ConfusedLivingDoll · 29/11/2017 20:03

God. I worked in phone sales once for a big furniture company. Never again. Rather die attempting to dig a ditch. Maybe they can then just push me into it and fill it over. Instant grave!

Tillybilly1 · 29/11/2017 20:04

I think the main problem is people haven't had time to prepare for this change, when you are already in your working career you will have worked out what you can afford pension wise and when you get it, to have to suddenly work many more years is hard to deal with. It will impact everyone as grandparents won't be able to help their children with childcare.

brasty · 29/11/2017 20:04

Can someone rich on MN just give me some of their portfolio?

Incitatus · 29/11/2017 20:12

I have a castle I’m not doing anything with brasty I’ll give you half its worth if you help me to do it up and rent it out to rich pensioners Grin
