To use a parent and child parking spot under these circumstances

My blue badge expires next week and the renewal process is taking longer than I thought it would (I'm still entitled to one). The supermarket DP and I use has a fairly small and tight car park. I usually use a mobility scooter at the supermarket, which needs space behind the car to get it in and out of the boot. Both the BB spots and the parent and child spots have markings behind them as a walkway/non driving bit where it's safer to get the scooter in and out and for me to sit on it to set up etc. Would it be unreasonable of us to use one of these spots at the supermarket until I get my new badge?

Yanbu

You genuinely need the space so use it

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 25/11/2017 18:08

Of course YANBU. Use it!

SargeantAngua · 25/11/2017 18:43

Thanks, I'm glad you don't think it's unreasonable. I've used one with the badge before when all the BB ones were full but was rather worried about using one without.

Hell yes !

ilovesooty · 25/11/2017 18:46

You need the facility and have every right to use it.

WitchesHatRim · 25/11/2017 18:46

Of course you should use it Smile

Sparklingbrook · 25/11/2017 18:47

YANBU. And ignore anyone who says otherwise.

paxillin · 25/11/2017 18:51

You might encounter self-appointed P&C control twats if MN is anything to go by.

SmilingButClueless · 25/11/2017 18:52

YANBU but have you asked the supermarket if they can give you a note or something to let you park in the disabled spaces until your blue badge arrives?

Sparklingbrook · 25/11/2017 18:54

YY watch out for the self appointed P&C space police. And ignore them.

itusedtobeverydifferent · 25/11/2017 19:19

I read that disabled people may use p&c spaces should no disabled bays be available. So I think, yes it's fine.

SilverySurfer · 25/11/2017 22:29

I wouldn't think twice - Of course YANBU. As others have said, ignore the P&C gestapo.
