to think John Lewis should renew gift cards which are about to expire?

Does anybody know if they will do this?
Their website is a bit confusing.

The waitrose website says "The gift card will expire 24 months from purchase or last use. Buying a product or making a balance enquiry refreshes the 24-month expiry period."

So do I just have to make a balance enquiry?

Yes I think most gift cards work like this, just check the balance and you should be fine.
