To kick everyone on this bus who cheered?

So I'm sat on a very full bus and there was a lady with a young toddler in a pram. I can see where you think this is going... but no, not a bus/wheelchair debate, don't worry.

So the toddler was clearly upset at something and was crying and groaning. The mum was talking to her, pulling faces, rocking the pushchair (as best you can when the safety lock is on) to settle the toddler. Tbf, she looked knackered and at her wits end. When she pressed the bell to get off people cheered. As she was pushing the pram down he aisle one man yelled "thank god! Keep them indoors if you can't control them".
She looked so hurt!
I was raging! The poor woman was trying her best and it was a toddler for god's sake!!
I sort of said loudly and generally for them to pack it in but was drowned out by the cheers and giggles from everyone.
I'm still annoyed!

Interesting that a post simply stating that the OP has poor luck on buses and linking to two of her other threads got deleted.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 24/11/2017 20:35

Did you report all the posts, op? Hmm

kootoo123 · 24/11/2017 20:36

I witnessed a similar thing a good few years ago. A young lady on her phone speaking Islamic very quietly no louder than two people having a side by side conversation. The driver actually kicked her off and peple clapped and cheered. Then proceded to talk louder than the girl but o yes in english. Cunts.

LadyDeadpool

Very interesting and makes me question whether their "I've only just come online so haven't seen all the deleted posts" post was actually truthful. I expect this one of mine to be removed soon as well Hmm

Sayyouwill · 24/11/2017 20:42

Christ you's are on one tonight!
Usually when I'm online I'm quite active, so no I didn't see what the deleted posts were/report them or I'd have commented earlier.

This is totally believable. I remember my ds started crying in a wetherspoons when he was about 7 months old. I heard the man on the next table say " I'll get him to shut up". That gave me the rage.

The thing is,even pre dc, I've never been bothered by crying children. It's just what they do. It never once occurred to me to blame the parent. I've been surprised how many people get so annoyed by it, but people like this lack empathy and that's different again.

say just ignore them. I totally get the need to vent when you're on your own. Don't let it spoil your evening. Aibu can be a vicious place! Just kick back with some wine and forget about it.

I don't really understand what's so suspicious about this story btw.

minesapintofwine · 24/11/2017 20:48

kootoo that's awful. Did you report the driver?

kootoo123 · 24/11/2017 20:57

No unfortunately not. I was in my late teens and more internally outraged than id be now. Iv thought about it alot though and wished id complained.

Escapepeas · 24/11/2017 21:20

OK, so the OP has admitted she embellished her story. But before she did that, a number of posters questioned the veracity of her post but got deleted (presumably) for troll-hunting.

So, MN, now that the OP has admitted she lied/trolled, will you be reinstating the posts you deleted?

Escapepeas · 24/11/2017 21:22

I’ve just reported my own post to see what happens.

Mittens1969 · 24/11/2017 21:27

Escapepeas, all the OP said was that she exaggerated by saying that everyone cheered, clarifying that she couldn't see everyone. She insists that the bare bones of her account is genuine. I believe it, as screaming toddlers on buses do seem to be a pet hate for a lot of people.

Caulk · 24/11/2017 21:29

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a thread with this many deletions...

Escapepeas · 24/11/2017 21:31

Yes, people questioned that ‘everyone’ cheered. OP admits they didn’t.

MrMeSeeks · 24/11/2017 21:32

Certainly believable by me. I get 2 sometimes buses a day to work and people can be awful!

SeaWitchly · 24/11/2017 21:58

I can also well believe something like this would happen on a [London] bus.

I remember having my 2 year old [at the time] son on my lap on a London bus and he was over tired, kicking and carrying on... DS was a stubborn little bugger and couldn't be reasoned with or soothed even though I was trying with various snacks and distraction techniques.
I was feeling really embarrassed and self conscious, also pretty exhausted by his shenanigans... only to have some woman behind me say loudly 'Oh for fucks sake! and very pointedly move herself as far away from us as she could get, all the while telling everyone around how fucking inconsiderate it was to take a child on the bus and let them carry on like that.

I felt like saying 'would you like to take over love?'... see how well you do Hmm

ifnotnowtenwhen · 24/11/2017 22:03

This thread makes no sense!

Just bloody delete the whole lot mnhq

Even the posts that remain say 'what P.P says' and that's been deleted.

kaitlinktm · 24/11/2017 22:11

My post was deleted because it quoted a deleted post - I was complaining about an ageist remark, nothing to do with not believing the OP.

Escapepeas · 24/11/2017 22:13

Oh dear. This is all a bit of a mess, isn't it?

ItsHuge · 24/11/2017 22:16

.

PoisonousSmurf · 24/11/2017 22:18

This is why I hate public transport...

MissionItsPossible · 24/11/2017 22:21

Yes, a mess, because perfectly inoffensive and legitimate posts have been deleted at the request of the OP or someone else. OPs posting history seems to have a lot of drama on bus journeys and in general

Clovertoast · 24/11/2017 22:34

I absolutely believe it.
I travel by public transport in South London everyday.

On my way home from work a little boy aprox 4ish was literally screaming and shouting at his nan. Swearing and misbehaving etc.
He ran up stairs when his nan wanted to get off and held the whole bus up. Everyone was laughing and talking about it. Some were irritated, shouting at him etc, some were trying to coax him down. The bus could not move till he got off. It was bizarre!!
Lots of people cheered when he got off!!I won't say everyone though. Wouldn't want to be a troll!!
