To go out for the day when my child is unwell?

I'd be travelling 1.5 hours away in car to regional city to see friends (no children going) for shopping/eating etc

One of my dc (13 months) at gp today with croup. Is it selfish to even consider going for some/all of day? Should I automatically be staying home? (Both dc would be looked after by their Dad if I go). I'm at my wits end with older toddler.

They are with a parent I would go

Go. Their Dad is capable of looking after them and sounds like you need the break.

SleepingStandingUp · 24/11/2017 16:46

As long as you can't pass on the croup ten go. Dad should be able to cope and a break will do you good. I would give my partner chance to have similar tome pit of both kiddies are hard work atm

The thought of not getting away as planned makes me want to cry. Thought of not putting dc first makes me feel guilty. Also, selfishly I'm worried what people would think (eg grandparents). Am a SAHM who doesn't get out childfree often.

Me to.

Go go go go go go run for the hills haha.

DS just had a throat and ear infection - well in himself but extra medicines on top of exsosting additional needs. Diagnosis Friday. I was meant to be going about 2 hr commute away Fro-Sun for my volunteer work. Nearly canceled but DH insisted and they coped. They will be fine x
