AIBU to ask you to see whether there's a Red Box Project locally to you, and to support it if you can?

I run one in my city and the support locally has been absolutely overwhelming - we've got boxes in loads of local schools providing donated menstrual products for free, so noone has to miss out on school due to being in period poverty.

If you do have a project locally, see a collection box anywhere and have the means, please stick a pack of pads in it - it makes such a difference.

(It is possible that I had a rather emotional morning at a school. I do know there are many worthy causes and many reasons why people do or don't donate to them. I also know there are any number of reasons why people live in period poverty and they can't all be fixed with donated pads. I just feel a bit evangelical after this morning. Please don't berate me for being gushy on AIBU Wink)

Not one near me. I would be happy to start. How do I get started? I run red tents so this would be great to be involved in.

No way, I started because I also run red tents and thought it made sense! That would be amazing-if you search ‘Red Box Project’ on Facebook you’ll see loads of local ones, but the main one doesn’t have a city name after it (though they are based in Portsmouth). They are brilliant women and have been so helpful to me and other coordinators!

Thank you. I used to live in Southampton but I Suffolk now. Not on FB but I will see if I can see the page!
Try for Red Tents!

If you can’t find it, PM me and I’ll give you their email address :)
