Whilst I agree with what's happened I am curious at how laws must be different in SA? How are they able to extend a sentence without a retrial?

Again as I said, I agree that he should be given longer but would that be possible in UK law?

The Court of Appeal here extends or decreases as they see fit. no retrial needed.

Hollow points are very common in SA and the USA. They allow you to carry a smaller gun.

I use them in the gun I carry with me, but not in my hunting rifle as they damage too much meat.

Strangely though, they are banned from military use, as they cause too much damage

I was so pleased to see this this morning. I also don't think it is long enough for that murderering shit, but it is a huge improvement on the original sentence.
His sobbing and throwing up in court made me furious. I've never seen such a bloody act of self pity -bollocks was it about poor Reeva.
I hope the news is of so comfort to her poor family who have been left with the whole life sentence.

There was always the impression given that he was heartbroken at losing the long term love of his life, someone he thought he'd spend the rest of his life with. They hadn't been together for as long as 4 months when she died and there had already been violence on more than one occasion before that night.

Me and a few other MNers followed the trial live with a thread on here. There were so many questionable facts that came out, to me it was obvious he had intent. The prosecution fought and fought for justice and only now is it being done. I just hope there are no appeals allowed.

Murdering, abusive fucker I hope he rots in there, and that he's feeling like shit right now knowing he'll do double the time. I don't know how SA law works..will he only serve 1/2 of this sentence?
