...to want to buy some trousers that aren’t bloody ‘skinny’?

Ffs I’m a size 16, nothing I’m ever going to buy is going to be fucking skinny.
I just want some trousers that are not jeans and not skinny.

What I don’t get is why the shops I like, Fat Fat, Seasalt etc, which surely are laser targeted for the over weight and over 40 like me, are just selling skinny fucking trousers and nothing else?

GAP?

They do boot cut jeans and different styles other than skinny.

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 23/11/2017 21:27

YANBU. I hate it. Pre-DC I wasn't big but was curvy. Skinny jeans just looked AWFUL. I'm currently pregnant and all the maternity jeans out there are skinny jeans. If they looked bad before they're going to look atrocious now! Don't think I can even get my calves into skinny jeans...

HidingBehindTheWallpaper · 23/11/2017 21:28

I don’t want jeans and our Gap closed a while ago. Also I found their trousers never fitted me.

Why can’t shops for the more ‘mature’ woman realise that some of use don’t want skinny.

I’m right there with you OP!

Gap do bootleg jeans, and skinny everything else. I found some wideleg sailor-y twill Navy trousers at Braintree a couple of years ago, and love them like a child. I’ve got these for work.

I have two pairs of these: www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/clothing/trousers-leggings-cropped/lamledra-trousers_dark_seagrass.htm in different colours.

I’d not thought of Boden.

My calfs are so chunky that those would still be skinny on me Hiding.

Retro Revival! Bit pricy but the clothes are 30s 40s cut and really good quality

A bit weird, but I got some lovely trousers for work from premier man (their women's clothes obviously) really smart and well fitting

It's not just you. I'm not (whispers) big but have nobbly knees. Skinny just doesn't suit. Try searching for slim or straight leg.

DinkyDaisy · 23/11/2017 21:59

I'm a size 8-10 hate skinny jeans. I used to find straight leg and bootleg at supermarkets but even they are now mostly skinny. Lost will to live in Primark.... skinny everywhere!
I look like sausage legs in skinny jeans.

snorkmaiden68 · 23/11/2017 22:00

With you OP! I skinny jeans but in black they look ok (size 14) but the other colours look dumb with anything but boots as I have big feet! I try to go with straight fit but they are thin on the ground. Bootcut always flap around my calves

DinkyDaisy · 23/11/2017 22:00

My knees also look knobbly ...
