Spent so long longing for more time, spending chilled out evenings watching TV, weekends filled with long walks and leisurely strols.

Now I don't know what to do with myself.

I have more time now than ever. I have started decorating!

Is there anything that you ever really wanted to achieve in life? Anything you really wanted to study, such as any courses?

Have you ever wanted to learn to paint? To knit? Cross stitch? Visit museums? Any box sets you haven't had time to finish? Books that you've always wanted to read?

I've recently become a shift worker so have lots of time off during the week and being able to do things when the world is quiet is great, because it never feels quiet at the weekend. Studying is on the agenda, but also visiting places when it's quiet is a bonus.

Hope you find something soon!

I'm the same. I've had 6 months of not working and now feel I need more. You need a project. Anything really. Excercise, volunteering, join a club, take up a new hobby maybe?

Steakandchips3 · 23/11/2017 18:52

Have you been going for long walks? Reading, going for a coffee/lunch, voluntary work?

statelypond · 23/11/2017 19:11

Definitely need to be walking more. Walking is good!

It reminds me of when I was a teenager and sent to clean my room and find 50000 books and read them. Then be forced to clean my room. And then not want to read them anyway!

I did the same last year, dropped form full time to 16 hours a week the summer wasn't too bad but with winter coming l am getting bored already. There is only so much housework, exercise knitting reading etc you can do.
I volunteer weekly but still struggling to be busy.
I have looking into Sign language courses held locally- but it is so cold going out at night,

My working hours have decreased a little and I have started to write a book. It may never be published (or even completed) but the process of writing is really therapeutic. I have also started to investigate free courses on FutureLearn.

This happened to me - I quit my job hoping for a "nice 3 month break" before returning to my old place, but I was so bored after about 2 days I started after only 1 month.

My productivity vanishes when my time is unlimited.
