I ordered the advent calendar when they appeared online with a pair of boots that I wanted and arranged a time to pick them both up at my local store. On the day I was due to collect them I was sent an email to say my boots were ready to collect but the advent calendar was late but would arrive this week.
Then I had a phone call yesterday from M&S saying that my calendar had 'been damaged or had gone missing' and they are now out of stock so they can't send me another one. AIBU in thinking they just messed up with the stock and this is an excuse? I'm not sure how it can have been damaged and gone missing and the man who phoned me didn't sound convinced himself.
It's doubly annoying as when I went into the shop they had loads of calendars available but they said they couldn't give me one of those in place of my ordered one and it would be delivered as promised. Now they're all sold out in store.
Was going to give it to my sister as a Christmas present too.
Has this happened to anyone else?
