Jungle explorer Benedict Allen tells of malaria and tribal wars

He purposefully buggered off to a remote area ‘exploring’ (pretty sure the area is well known to the people who LIVE THERE) without proper equipment, left his family and young children and the. Required an expensive an in ecological rescue by the bloody Daily Mail of all things!
The whole thing smacks of inperiist, upper class empire nonsense.

He's a dickhead sure but really, revoking his passport?
Why on earth?

Bit of an overreaction, I think.

The DM only does this sort of thing so they can be sure everybody knows about him when they switch tack and slag him off - so the impending media and public "fury" at his antics will no doubt serve him right enough.

Actually he is an experienced explorer who knows Papua New Guinea well.

Agreed. I don't recall him putting out a request for the Daily Fail to rescue him. I'm guessing I missed that part. He got himself in trouble and he was prepared to get himself out of trouble.

The daily fail sent the helicopter as a self serving publicity stunt. Don't blame him for that.
