to warn anyone on Universal Credit to check whether they will get anything next month

Just seen this BBC article: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42036462 which suggests that because there are 5 "paydays" in December, many families may lose or get a reduction in Universal Credit for the month and need to reapply the month after.

I don't know any more detail than is in the article but thought it important to share as there isn't exactly much time to put money aside if you will lose money!

It's going to be difficult for anyone with a new claim with the initial 6 week wait happening over Christmas. And yes if people get paid twice during their assessment period ( maybe because employers pay early at Christmas) then they may end up with no UC.

I guess the foodbanks are gonna be even more swamped this December. UC cut off plus kids off school for two weeks (so no free school dinner for KS1) will be pushing so many over the edge.
