I've missed Hallowe'en, and I can't be arsed with Christmas cheer yet - what I want is a good scare. Novels, true stories, films, series, podcasts, graphic novels - anything and everything. I've got book tokens, Amazon vouchers and Netflix/Amazon Prime at the ready, and I want to be crying with fear by the time you're through.

Anyone? Grin

I've heard the new IT was meant to be so scary and I still haven't seen it!!! I have a baby and no baby sitter so couldn't go see it at the cinema when it was on. I haven't seen one scary movie this year. I am however currently watching Stranger things season 2 on Netflix which is good.

Oh try watching a series called 'Lore' on Amazon; its real stories and so creepy.

YouStoleTheBowlFromTheRoom · 17/11/2017 21:39

Thanks, Bella8! Really liked IT and ST2; couldn't get into Lore at all - I hear the podcast is better than the TV series.

Read a good book lately - Thin Air by Michelle Paver. Wasn't as good as another by her - Dark Matter (which terrified me) but still well worth a read.

Oh I'm so jealous I really want to see IT! Shame you didn't like lore, I actually really liked half of the episodes especially the one about the doll. I so tend to like more off-beat stuff than most though. I can't wait until I can read my books again; too difficult at the moment with my DS keeping me extra busy but I will make a note of yours. Hope you find some more horrors! I find it so difficult to find anything that really scares as most make me laugh Hmm

Oh and you've probably seen it but years ago I was so freaked out after watching the Japanese version of the ring with subtitles; still shudder thinking of that now...

YouStoleTheBowlFromTheRoom · 17/11/2017 21:52

I feel you - DD was a screamer for her first year; she's three now and I just went to the cinema for the first time in four years a few weeks ago Grin. Hope DS chills out a bit soon.

What's done me is seeing this: It's not out til next year, but it looks amazing. I'm with you - hard to find something that's scary not cheesy!

Thanks, that looks so eerie; I love anything involving unknown entities! Oh I know it's so difficult to get to the cinema or do any of the things I used to take for granted. DS is only 8.5 months old and I reckon it'll be quite some time before I make it to see a film after dark Sad and it'll be U and PGs when we do go. Little man is worth it though, I'll just have wait until the films come out and try and watch them when DS goes to bed!
Sounds like you've seen most but there has to be one you haven't seen! Hopefully somebody's will suggest a one on here...Hmm

My absolute favourite book is called Her Fearful Symmetry. It’s not scary as such but is about ghosts and is set in Highgate cemetery. I love it.
