I thought payment for sex was still illegal?

Where and when do you think it was illegal?

Rebeccaslicker · 16/11/2017 18:26

Would anyone here be happy if their daughter did this or their son (or grandfather!) paid for it? Personally I wouldn't be.

So many youngsters think they can be famous for nothing because of reality tv "stars". Encouraging selling virginity - it's one thing if you look so good that men will pay a fortune and you will be in a naice hotel with protection. But girls who don't look like that and need money might see a story like this and be willing to take huge risks for it and THAT worries me.

There are a lot of things I wouldn't do for £2m. Does she have any idea of exactly what he expects for his money? And if it's too unpleasant for her, is she guaranteed to be able to stop him?

Rachie1973 · 16/11/2017 18:35

Fossie

Paying for sex in the UK isn't illegal. How the sex is procured varies.

However, she'll be in Germany where prostitution is very legal and regulated by the government.

I don't get what the big deal about virginity is? Surely on a purely physical level (and we are talking about paid sex between strangers here so what else counts in this case?) There is no difference between sex with this woman while she's "virgo intacta" and after that. She'll be the same. So the difference is psychological. She's worth more as a virgin apparently. I don't like what that's says at all.

WineAndTiramisu · 16/11/2017 18:55

I'm pretty sure I would have done the same for £2 million!

SilverySurfer · 16/11/2017 19:27

This reminds me of something Churchill once said. He asked a socialite if she would sleep with him for 5 million pounds to which she replied, 'we would have to discuss terms.' He then suggested she sleep with him for 5 pounds to which she replied 'Mr. Churchill, what kind of woman do you think I am?!". Churchill said 'Madam, we've already established what you are, now we are haggling about the price.'

The memory I have of losing my virginity is a happy one, as I loved the person I was with at the time and I wouldn't swap it for £2m. This girl will just remember she prostituted herself to the highest bidder. What price self respect.

Branleuse · 16/11/2017 20:34

if my daughter wanted to do this for 2 million quid I wouldnt judge her at all, as long as the creepy guy didnt want to keep seeing her afterwards.

annielouise · 16/11/2017 21:12

I judge them both. She's contributing to creating a market for this kind of thing, especially by advertising it. She's not helping women being seen as a commodity to be bought.

annielouise · 16/11/2017 21:14

I'd be disgusted at my DD if she did this and feel she'd let herself down, selling herself as if she had no opportunities. It's prostitution. How is that ever good?

Bubblebubblepop · 16/11/2017 21:16

I don't really understand why anyone would pay £2m, but maybe I don't understand sexist pigs

Anyway a broken hymen is in no way proof of non virginity- how do you explain virgins using tampons then? Hmm

OlennasWimple · 16/11/2017 21:19

If you google "virginity for sale eBay" you get a fair number of examples of women who have done this before.

Only women, though, haven't come across any men Hmm

BartholinsSister · 16/11/2017 21:24

Seems like a simple way to coerce someone into handing over 2 million.

Splinterz · 16/11/2017 21:28

Would anyone here be happy if their daughter did this or their son (or grandfather!) paid for it? Personally I wouldn't be.

Well lets get down to brass tacks. It's no different to someone accepting a night out, a meal, drinks then dropping their knickers in payment. It's just the value of payment is different. Low end tarts or high end escorts. Sex is sex, some one is selling and someone is buying.

Frankly, shes' got her head screwed on, flog it once, flog it big, get set for life; rather that, then be pimped out, abused,on drugs and dead by 30.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 16/11/2017 21:41

I am so saddened by this. I would love to read that he gave her the money without the sex, encouraged her not to put herself in that position again and donate some towards a womans education program or women’s health services. I think I live in cuckoo land, but wouldn’t that be good.

DixieFlatline · 16/11/2017 21:42

Tampons don’t break the hymen.

Also, hymens vary. You can have had sex (granted, probably not a lot of it) and still have a hymen. Though I don’t know what a... err... hymen inspector (?) would accept as evidence of virginity.

BeccaAnn · 16/11/2017 21:46

oldest trade in the world, she's not been coerced into it and its her choice. I wouldn't have done it but as long as all precautions towards personal and sexual safety have been taken shouldn't be a big issue.

MammaTJ · 16/11/2017 21:49

I was offered £1000 for mine when I skived off school to shoplift. I turned him down! Perhaps I shouldn't have!

Mind you, I didn't just 'give mine away' to just anybody, he was a long term BF who I loved at the time. Some girls do though and I think perhaps might regret losing their virginity during a drunken one night stand more than this young lady will regret her choices!

FlaviaAlbia · 16/11/2017 21:52

Actually, paying for sex is illegal in NI which is part of the UK.

I don't believe consent can ever be truly given in situations where money is involved.

Bubblebubblepop · 16/11/2017 21:54

I didn't say tampons break a hymen. But your hymen must be broken in order to use them. And many girls hymans break through normal activity such as bike/horse riding- indeed some girls are born without one! So no relation to virginity at all

Jux · 16/11/2017 21:54

The article said she got the idea after some other girl did theme and got 2 million. So now, another girl will try, and then another until it’she orm and the price will drop to a couple of quid or a fish supper.

JanetStWalker · 16/11/2017 22:11

I judge them both. She's contributing to creating a market for this kind of thing, especially by advertising it. She's not helping women being seen as a commodity to be bought.

Perfectly put, annielouise.

PinkHeart5914 · 16/11/2017 22:12

It’s her virginity and if she wants to sell it, I’m not judging her as it’s nothing to do with me what she does with her vagina.

It’s just sex at the end of the day, It doesn’t have to have any emotion involved

missevelina · 16/11/2017 22:19

Why all the fuss? It's a business transaction between 2 consenting adults. I can't get worked up over that.

And nowhere in that article does it say that the guy is a 'dirty old man'. Plenty of young millionaires in the Middle East!
