To ask- if you’ve got to really stare at a pregnancy test to see lines, it’s negative?

What do people think?

All the times I’ve actually been pregnant it has been a clear line within one minute- no mistaking it.

Asking because I’m taking the mini pill- no missed pills, but have been feeling pregnant for the last few days. Sounds mad I know- probably hormones. So I did a test anyway and was happy it was negative.

Anyway, like a moron, I’ve been back to the test, and I feel like if I hold it a certain way....I’m not sure. But then- I’ve felt like this before and it’s just been my paranoia!

Surely if you’re getting “symptoms” you’d get an obvious second line- right?

Tell me I’m a paranoid idiot all!

I'd say that's a negative.

Well, when i fell for DD3 my first test was very hard to read. It was a clear blue. I did it a bit early and the line was so faint that my eyes went funny trying to see it and the eyes of my best mate, who's house i was at - she made me do it - and the eyes of her husband and the neighbor who popped in ... We all decided it was neg. Two days later a new test showed a very obvious line.

The baby is 19 now :)

KrayKray00 · 16/11/2017 15:22

It looks negative to me but I “felt pregnant” before the test came out positive (with my second) I could just tell. I noticed smells more. My itty bitty boobies felt sore. I just felt pregnant. However I think it was too early to detect but eventually it came out positive. I wasn’t trying but I had my coil removed due to health issues and the first time I had unprotected sex I fell pregnant.

Try again in a week or so? Don’t over think it. That usually doesn’t help, I’ve done that several times and wasted my money on a test knowing full well I can’t be (different contraception fitted) and came on a day or so later! impatient and expensive

KrayKray00 · 16/11/2017 15:23

Oh and all the best too whatever the outcome! 😊

BirdBrain85 · 16/11/2017 15:32

My first pos test was barely visible as a line (think shining a torch on it and everything Blush). It was so impossible to be sure I didn't tell anyone. I took one the following morning and had a proper faint line, and a positive digital. So it can happen!

Chattycat78 · 16/11/2017 15:38

Oh dearSad

To clarify- I don’t want it to be positive. I’m taking the mini pillSad

I have no idea about the mini pill, are you due on? Do you get periods on it sorry if tmi but could that be a reason why you feel this way?

userabcname · 16/11/2017 15:50

Hmmm I would re-test in a few days. My first test was negative and the next 2 were very very faint. I had to wait a few more days for a proper dark line.

Animation86 · 16/11/2017 15:51

Looks negative to me, but I completely understand!
The other week i had my first evap on a Tesco test. I honestly didnt think they were "real" ever since my first DD 8 years ago. Im on the pill too i am so shit at taking it so I was in terror

Chattycat78 · 16/11/2017 15:52

No periods....mini pill stopped them, only been taking it 2 months. Switched from proper pill as it was giving me headaches.

In terror also - I have 2 under 3. The thought of another is horrifying!

If you're worried about it, test with a "proper" test - not an expert but those mini tests don't seem particularly reliable to me i may be bitter from hugely unreliable opk tests that I bought on the internet

It also depends how early you're testing. I tested at 24 days for pregnancy 1 and got a heavy line (although it was twins) and then at 26 days with pregnancy 2 and got a clear line.

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 16/11/2017 16:19

Looks negative to me

Rebeccaslicker · 16/11/2017 16:22

Looks negative to me - but then so did the 3 I took in July and Dc2 is due in March, all being well!! I would get a digital, no mistaking that, OP. Good luck

ByThePowerOfRa · 16/11/2017 16:23

That looks negative to me at a glance and if you have always had really clear positives with other pregnancies then I get why you’d expect the same.

But generally yabu. I’m pregnant with dc2 and in both pregnancies I’ve had tests which look negative. Dh didn’t believe me when I told him I was pregnant this pregnancy!

Slightlyperturbedowlagain · 16/11/2017 16:24

It looks negative to me, but I didn't get a positive with eldest DS until my period was a week late, so I would test again in a few days with first morning sample (it's the most concentrated)
