I know it’s outside but it could come in couldn’t it?

"ertrand I can assure you that spider phobia affects men as well as women"
I agree.
So this is a threadful of phobics?

Bluetrews25 · 15/11/2017 16:32

Perhaps you could let it hoover the caterpillars off your ocado broccoli?

Medwaymumoffour · 15/11/2017 16:34

That’s a chunky one. I am a biologist and can pick them up in the garden but if they come inside I’m afraid not. I don’t like the way the pop up unexpectedly then disappear leaving me wondering where they went. On a plant outside, no problem. In my bath, ok, on my bed no thanks they get evicted ASAP.
I always take them so they are nearer to my neighbours house as I one we put at the end of the garden overtook me running back to house.
As a aside my son with asd has zero fear of spiders. I pointed one out all excitedly and he picked it up. He’s very handy if there is no glass and cardboard to hand

I dont like spiders. I'm not feared I wouldnt say, just don't like them but fuck me. That looks like a bloody tarantula!

Good on your DP for being brave enough to move Incy along.

We live 4 floors up in an apartment. Before this year, we've had 4 spiders in our home in 9 years. This year we've had probably 6 already. It's good in a way because it means I can show DS(3) not to be scared of them. We put one in a plastic tub, he took it off to nursery and let it out in their garden. We now regularly pop them in a tub for him to look at then let them out somewhere but I'm talking smallish things.

That thing you could saddle and ride!!!!!!!!!

pinkingshears · 15/11/2017 16:40

Gallopy fuckers!!!
I don't kill them though I DO run when they are big enough I can hear them galloping across the wooden flooring... Ugh!!!

whiskyowl · 15/11/2017 16:43

My friend is an insect expert, and he reckons about 98% of "false widow" ids made by the general public are totally wrong. They're really rare, but there are a couple of other spiders that look really similar. I am always Hmm when someone says they have one. Unless they can then explain, in detail, how the false widow differs from those other types, I'm gonna assume they're a hysterical drama queen [grin.

Clandestino · 15/11/2017 16:43

Oh, he is totally beautiful! Please put him somewhere warm, in a shed or something or he'll freeze to death. The number of ours is getting less and less every year because my feline arseholes hunt them for fun.

KyloRensLightsaber · 15/11/2017 16:59

Galloping Grin

Now dying to get a photo of mine to see if anyone here can identify them! Overinvested

I live in the range of one of the black widow spiders species but bites are really rare. I take a martial arts class and one of the boys in the group suddenly leaped up and grabbed something to kill a claimed black widow once. I was really pleased that the adults response was to tell him off. I really don't understand the spider antipathy.
