To think at my ripe old age I shouldn't get giant red spots!?

I'm just a couple of years away from 40. But I still get spots, luckily I don't get big clusters of spots but I do get 1 or 2 giant massive, scabby, size of a 5p, red as a traffic light spots. They are often painful, and even though I go against every instinct I won't squeeze them yet still they end up bloody scabs and seriously unattractive.

I look after my skin as best as I can and can't understand why. I never got spots like this as a teenager so why now as a grown ass adult, it just doesn't seem fair.

I'm good at make up and thankfully can cover them quite effectively however my job doesn't really lend itself to wearing good coverage make up and I find myself feeling very embarrassed and self conscious about the bright red target on my face.

I still get a lot too, especially on my back. Cleared up a lot when I was pregnant and now just as bad. My husband was also getting some and the gp put him on an epic course of antibiotics and they've improved. I think it's pretty common tbh

I get these and, to add insult to injury, I get big red angry spots that indicate a big ol' whisker is trying to emerge from my chin.

There should be rule where you don’t get spots when your children start getting them.

44 and I've got one of those that starts at the back of your head and ends up just being a large hard lump which goes then comes back really angry and at that point I always make the mistake of trying to squeeze it but there is nothing there other than a hard lump. Except now it's a scab as I've removed the top layer of skin. No idea why it happens, can only think it's hormonal but I have been run down recently with a bad cold.

Watching with interest OP I feel your pain, mid 40's here with the same problem and I look after my skin! I've been using a dab of salicylic acid on them which seems to bring them down quick. Also for big ones I ice them as they start as it stops the eruption! 😬

Would love to stop having them full stop!

I have started getting them over the last couple of months - I'm 57 FFS !
I am very run down and anaemic at the moment though, they are just red sore lumps - that turn into scabs that take ages to heal. Get them on my face and in my cleavage for some reason.

Autumn chill I have one of those! It's driving me mad. It seems to go away every summer and then reappear in the autumn. I find myself absent minded picking it. It's like layers upon layers of scab on the back of my head

I do have a cold which is refusing to bugger off, 6 weeks and counting and I know my period is due so I guess I should expect some gift from the hormones but christ these spots need their own post code!!!!

I have been icing it, and using freederm gel on it in an attempt to clear it up before the weekend (big weekend ahead).

Just doesn't seem fair, all the crap is grown women have to deal with we should get a break from spots once we've had children.

Forget things like freederm - there's a cream you can buy over the counter which is amazing - it's called PanOxyl, is medicated and clears them up pretty sharpish.

I used to believe there would be a ‘golden age’ between spots and wrinkles....

I have a lovely red lump on my chin line.
I seem to be getting more of them recently. I'm 37.
