I'm starting to have breakfast from tomorrow.
I'm usually late up and running around but I'm going to get up half an hour before the kids and am hoping this will help with my energy and mood in the mornings.

But I could do with some inspiration from my mumsnet family!Grin

Exercise. I sleep better, look better, can walk up a hill without getting out of breath, fit into some old clothes that were destined for the bin, eat better.

Decluttering. I was ruthless! Now my house is always tidy and easy to clean - no more moving one thing over there, hoovering, moving that thing back and hoovering where it was, etc. Uncluttered house = uncluttered mind. Plus healthy bank balance as i flogged a lot of stuff on ebay Grin

Str4ngedaysindeed · 14/11/2017 21:23

I stopped drinking 4 years ago. Granted I had a bad habit and it was ruining my life but oh my god it is the best thing I ever did. I am a totally different person.

OurMiracle1106 · 14/11/2017 21:24

Joined the gym almost a year ago. I’ve lost 3 stone look much better and feel the benefits too.

Leaving my ex husband and divorcing him without looking back.

Fishface77 · 14/11/2017 21:29

Exercise (lack of) is a massive thing.
I am naturally skinny so don't want to lose weight but I'm so unfit it's embarrassing!

Wel done str4nge! That's brilliant!

Decluttering is a big thing too! My house needs a good turnout. It I'm scared of throwing shit I might need!
Ourmiracle good for you!

Yoga.

Radio 3.

Less wine, more gin.

FellOutOfBed2wice · 14/11/2017 21:31

Batch cooking. I batch cook for my work days during half term (am a teacher) and do a whole half terms worth of meals then just freeze them ready for the slo cooker.

WineIsMyMainVice · 14/11/2017 21:34

I quit my job 3 weeks ago! I feel like I’ve had a massive weight lifted off my shoulders! I haven’t got anything to go to yet, but I’m on a 3 month notice period so have time to find something. It feels a bit reckless but I already feel better. I just hope the risk works out!!

ClementineWardrobe · 14/11/2017 21:40

Got a dog then got a rescue dog. Stopped giving a whole heap of shit about stuff I can do nothing about. (it's a work in progress)
Stopped flying- if my dogs can't go I don't go. Abroad doesn't do much for me anymore.
DH just replied to this question: 'married you.' Aww. He is my best ever decision.

c3pu · 14/11/2017 21:43

Left my ex.

Can't believe how much of my life I wasted, wishing she would be the person I wanted her to be instead of accepting she was a fucking nutcase and exiting quietly via a side door.

Bat3 · 14/11/2017 21:43

Left a job I hated. I had no other job to go to, but it all worked out perfectly in the end.

c3pu · 14/11/2017 21:43

Also - stopped letting perfect be the enemy of good.

Jumperoux · 14/11/2017 21:43

Stopped buying clothes that I don't LOVE. Now everything in my wardrobe gets worn and I've saved loads of cash.

NotMyMonkees · 14/11/2017 21:45

This is so inspirational, I need to do all these things. Glad it worked out for you all!

EmilyChambers79 · 14/11/2017 21:45

I got organised. It's taken 3 years but I've done it! Everything from money to work (went self employed) to the house and to social life.

I may have gone too far with the money aspect part but I feel more secure that way. Now all that is done, I'm looking at my health and fitness next.

Fishface77 · 14/11/2017 21:51

You lot a brilliant.
I've been in my job too long and fear of the unknown is holding me back.

I need to ask another question.
Batch cooking.
Do I cook a load of stuff then freeze? Do I defrost before I reheat? What do people actually batch cook?

OP posts:
Fishface77 · 14/11/2017 21:51

I've never actually batch cooked Blush

Mupflup · 14/11/2017 21:53

Got a dog. She's a rescue and a complicated little thing, and she's my heart, she's totally changed me. We love her more than anything. This year I also dropped my hours at work which has made a very positive difference, I"d highly recommend it if you can afford it.

sortingmyselfoutslowly · 14/11/2017 22:00

I batch cook a couple of times a week. This week I made 8 portions of fish pie and 12 portions of apple crumble, cooked and froze them ready to defrost and reheat on a busy day. My record is 24 portions of lasagne in an afternoon! In my freezer I currently have roast dinners, curry, beef stew, soup, pasta sauce, cooked meat to use in pies, mashed potato and rice pudding all in portion containers. I try to cook something big at least once a week.

HashiAsLarry · 14/11/2017 22:04

I lost 6 stone a few years back. Helped a lot with spinal problems, which still show up but less frequently.

Dumped a so called friend. Life is so much better without their manufactured dramas.

Fishface77 · 14/11/2017 22:04

That's good sorting! So I can do like curries and shepherd pies etc lasagne

Stickaforkinimdone · 14/11/2017 22:06

Got a cleaner. I love her like I love my children.

Bubblebubblepop · 14/11/2017 22:07

Oooo Emily how did you get organised? I love the idea of doing a bit at a time.... I always try to do too much at once and fail all of it
