to be fascinated with the Arthur Collins case?

Ever since the story broke I have been transfixed. I don't know why. I don't know these people (I live overseas) but something about this case fascinated me.

Anyone else?

Ferne McCann has had her baby girl by that no mark on Nov.2nd. And what does she do? Post pics everywhere. If I were her, with a father to her baby like that, I'd be keeping a very low profile.

derxa · 14/11/2017 09:18

Why can't we do the same with these "reality" shows? One of its stars is going down for years for an acid attack. Scrap the show. Send that message too. Arthur Collins is a piece of shit but he's not in TOWIE and neither is Ferne McCann. I agree though that the show and similar ones don't set a good model for young people.

NumberEightyOne · 14/11/2017 09:19

I don't feel sorry for Ferne at all. I do feel sorry for her child though.

WindowWiper · 14/11/2017 09:24

I wonder who’ll pluck the little hard man's eyebrows for him now...

BusterTheBulldog · 14/11/2017 09:37

I can’t believe that fearne still gets any work on tv! It truly makes me despair. She’s been to court to support him, it’s awful.

I hope he is made an example of. Reading between the lines on some of the press articles too his family seem utterly awful too.

I agree. There is such a weird dynamic at ITV. It seems that if you are friends with Holly Willoughby/Phillip Schofield/Dan Baldwin, you can do no wrong and will get TV work.

MrsJayy · 14/11/2017 09:45

I havn't seen fearne on Tv for months Rylan has the fearne this morning slot.

McTufty · 14/11/2017 09:47

Has she been at court to support him? I wasn’t aware of that.

I do disagree with the sentiment that if a woman makes a poor choice of partner she deserves everything she gets though. I don’t know how much she knew when she met him - they hadn’t been together long but she may have been fully aware for all I know - but I can still find it in myself to have compassion for her situation. Obviously I feel more sorry for the acid attack victims.

NumberEightyOne · 14/11/2017 09:50

She has enjoyed a fantastic lifestyle which she has flaunted on Instagram. Everything he bought her, or paid for was no doubt partly funded by criminal means.

Liiinoo · 14/11/2017 09:54

What amazes me isn't that stupid women fall for thugs but that glossy sleb magazines feature these stupid women in lifestyle pieces and interviews as if they were to be envied or admired.

ReggaetonLente · 14/11/2017 09:56

Nimber I think she paid for everything. I think that was the attraction for him.

Essex/East London here and agree with everything MrsDV said. People round here boast about being related to the train robbers FFS. Lauren Goodger was spouting in a mag recently about how she likes being with 'bad boys' because they're loyal and love their families (and because prison makes it harder for them to cheat).

I do doubt that Ferne knew about the acid, though. She probably just thought he was involved in common or garden roughing up and low lovel drug dealing. Not a man to have a baby with, by any means, but I'm sure she's learned her lesson. He's not a 'bad boy', he's a shitty person.

derxa · 14/11/2017 09:59

ITV have dropped FM like a hot potato. She seems to be selling her second hand clothes online. I don't think she went to court to support him. I can't believe I'm defending crap telly people.

NumberEightyOne · 14/11/2017 10:03

Did she Reggae. I suppose I should feel sorry for her but I am really struggling to. I guess she still liked him driving her around in his fancy car because the idea of having a boyfriend who does an honest day's work and has to catch a bus wasn't appealing to her?

christmaspudding1 · 14/11/2017 10:09

ha ha of course she knew where his money was coming from and she enjoyed the spoils of it

cant believe people think otherwise

JaneEyre70 · 14/11/2017 10:11

I have zero sympathy for Ferne....she had a child with a man that she knew was a bad 'un. I'll save my sympathy for the poor sods that had acid thrown over them, and the poor kid that will grow up knowing her dad is a criminal and did something so awful. DH and I were watching it on the news last night, and both said he should be made to pay the victims medical bills - I would imagine it will run into millions over the years due to the ongoing damage. I can't get my head around anything doing something so despicable. Stupid little wannabe gangsta Angry. As for her, still selling her story to anyone that will listen and calling the paps when she's got the baby out - vile.

derxa · 14/11/2017 10:16

ha ha of course she knew where his money was coming from and she enjoyed the spoils of it Yes she must have known.

Roussette · 14/11/2017 10:22

Unless she is beyond stupid (not sure on that) of course she knew his wealth was down to criminal activities! He's a scaffolder but lives in a £1M house (with guns and cannabis factory of course)

ReggaetonLente · 14/11/2017 10:25

Isn't it his mum and dad's house, though? He still lived at home.

He was growing a cannabis farm... in his mum's spare room. It's embarrassing.

Roussette · 14/11/2017 10:32

No idea. Press says it's his house.

FrayedHem · 14/11/2017 10:36

Ferne got dragged after her stint on Celebs Go Dating and expecting the man to pay on a first date. I think she ordered oysters despite not liking them! (She did say she'd have been happy going to a pie and mash shop). I guess the appeal of this man for her was having a lot of cash and a lot of spare time to go with it. I do have a soft spot for Lauren Goodger.

I've lived in Essex most of my life and having some kind of link to a notorious criminal family (normally the Krays) was a badge of honour at school. That was well over 20 years ago and it seems not much has changed.

I find the success of Mark Wright most baffling. Interviewing Liam Neeson!

Leilaniii · 14/11/2017 10:53

Shit, this made me laugh Grin. Sorry, I know is it not a laughing matter.

I live on the East London/Essex border and I have to agree, the love of gansters remains strong. I know of a grown woman who still brags to people that her dad was on the periphery of the Krays gang. I don't think he ever met them but knew someone who was in the firm and apparently that's a badge of honour. These people are super weird and Ferne knew what he was. I see girls like that all around. They love the cash and 'glamour' of being with a wrong-un. Gentrification will never fully eradicate that mind set around these parts.

FrayedHem · 14/11/2017 11:16

I've just remembered how the "in" gang at school was called "The Firm". In the badlands of Billiercay(!)

Nothingrhymeswithfamily · 14/11/2017 11:36

I do think Ferne has handled it really well, she must have had some massive lucrative offers to talk but she's kept her head down. She would have been ideal for a reality spin off about being pregnant before this dickwad did this.
Shes just kept her head down, spoken out against it. told him to hand himself in and dumped him. Theres little more she could have done. Im not a TOWIE fan, but I've caught her on bits and pieces and thought she comes across really well.

She posted one picture after the birth, i would guess to stop the paps hounding her and making money. Meanwhile you've got newspapers dissecting her name choice as some kind of link to him and the attack.
But yet she remains quiet and has distanced herself from him as much as she can.

He right royally fucked her and their child. It should have been a special lovely time for her, but he destroyed that. Whilst she may or may not have known what he was like, i think i remember reading the baby was a surprise baby quite early on in the relationship. I doubt she would have thought he was capable of this, she seems smart enough to realise what being in a relationship with a man like this would do to her career.

FlouncyDoves · 14/11/2017 11:40

Bit annoyed my previous post was taken down. I don’t know why wishing harm to a scumbag like that is against MNHQ policy.

I hope he has a lovely time in prison. Enjoy that dose of reality.
