To wish i had a friend

Just that really, i have a few casual type friends, but no one who i'm close to. Sometimes i just wish i had someone who i could confide in when i'm down. How lovely that must be.

In the little magnifying glass search bit type ChuMNs and then If it doesn't come up straightaway on the bar at the top which says All People Photos to the right of these there are 3 little dots, press that and then the group option comes up, press that and you should see the ChuMNs group.

Feel the same. I'm rubbish at communication, and my social skills are even worse. I keep myself busy, and the few friends I have aren't close friends, plus I'm usually providing the shoulder and words of support . Lots of acquaintances though. Really struggled since I moved here.

Was thinking last night that I'd give anything to gave someone I can call after a crap day, often dp just doesn't get it.

Oh I could really do with this, I feel very lonely! I've put in a request for the group. I moved to a new city to be with my partner and I'm self-employed - not a good situation for making friends!

No luck.

What about trying to find some friends through MN? I've made some wonderful friends throughout the course of my career, DC, church and also made a whole new circle of friends here on Mumsnet.

I often feel like this too. I’ve never had a best friend but did have 2 very close friends but i haven’t heard from either since I had my DS a year ago. Apparently they both wanted another baby and were jealous.
I have a close friend I used to work with but she has 3DC, works full time and wouldn’t want to call on her even though that’s probably more my fault.
I have made friends with 3 mums through baby classes and we all meet regularly and they are all lovely but things are in early days. It would always be nice to meet new people

I feel the same. I'm rubbish at small talk, hate the phone. No one to call if I'm upset or whatever. I genuinely feel that no one apart from my children would miss me if I was gone.
