To wish i had a friend

Just that really, i have a few casual type friends, but no one who i'm close to. Sometimes i just wish i had someone who i could confide in when i'm down. How lovely that must be.

Can I join please ladies? I’m self employed and work from home so apart from the school run see no one but the kids and Dog! We relocated 3 years ago and I’ve found it very isolating here. Now my husband works away I don’t even have him to talk to in the evening.. pretty lonely life actually.

I feel the same, I'm a SAHM and most of my friends work so are much busier than me in terms of finding time to meet up/chat etc. have requested to join the FB group!

I really relate to what a lot of you are saying. I’m a SAHM as well, and often the only people I see are my DH, DDs and my cats, it’s a lonely existence but in my case self inflicted as I’m depressed and don’t have the energy to arrange to meet the friends I do have.

op your not alone.just look here already.i no that doesn't help when you are actually sat on your own.but you have so many people now holding your In their minds and harts so try and soak that up when your feeling at ur lowest.people have you in their thoughts.

I've been feeling like this since kids really. I didn't really connect with my antenatal group because I had twins and found it too daunting/difficult to do lots of the meet ups. Same with baby activities really! Now we've moved to a town where we know no one and I need to get involved with toddler groups etc but its just so hard! I will search for the facebook group.

My best friends live in England (from secondary school), whereas I'm in the Channel Islands. I've lived here 7 years but have never really settled on the friend-front.

Being a SAHM to DD (2 years), I wish I just had that one friend to invite around, even when the house is a tip, and I'm struggling with anxiety and ear ache (today!).

I turn 30 later this month, maybe I should make an effort for more friends in my 30s. But I'm quite shy, so definitely don't come across friendly at a glance......

I've just requested to join and sent the admin a message. I used to have three really good friends. Then two moved overseas and I moved away. It's hard making friends when your children are older - there's no school run or baby groups.

Like a pp I work from home 4 days a week and then the fifth day I work in a city an hour away. It would be lovely to have someone to go to the cinema with or just have a coffee.

I had no one for years then my DS started playing with a girl and now we are best friends ( the mother ) but to busy to do spa weekends with having kids 😂. I have loads of ‘friends’ but only close to her. Took 5 years though to find her!

I only have 1 very close friend, been friends for 30+ years (she's also my DH's cousin) but we both have very busy lives and she has so many other friends that she tends to not have all that much time for me, and she doesn't have kids yet

I would love to have more friends, and some of the mums at school are really lovely, but they tend to have their own cliqs too

I have: my mum, my best friend from uni (20 years ago) and 3 friends who live across the road, and I tell them all everything.

there must be a reason why you don’t have a close friend, if you want one, hopefully you can meet someone to make this happen.

I feel the same. I always feel I’m used and only wanted when it suits people, because they never reply when I make the move or contact them!!!

I’m not sure I’d be welcome to join, I’m middle-aged and never had children, as I’ve never wanted them. I’ve had 'friends' in the past who have been little more than acquaintances and I have a social anxiety disorder that makes me withdraw from real life people as I can’t cope with day-to-day interactions. Basically, I’m a total fuck up.

Since I had to stop teaching because I'm ill, I'm at home all day every day alone. DH is here in the evenings but I'm incredibly lonely. I can't go out or do anything because of PTSD /anxiety and I can't manage the wheelchair on my own.

It's utterly miserable.
