Now, I might be enjoying this fall out because my DS went to the HelloWorld event and was badly ripped off (a YouTuber event which went terribly wrong) but finally Zoella is being challenged on her over priced tat merchandise. Particularly her advent calendar which is £50 FIFTY FUCKING POUNDS for the likes of confetti, 2 tiny candles, a thin copy book and a Pom Pom!

Social media is going mad, there are thousands of tweets, a viral video lampooning it is doing the rounds and it was discussed on 5Live last night.

Is anyone watching this fall out?

Do we think this will finally be the end of these terrible, vacuous idiots? Or am I too optimistic?

Also interesting how her peers (adults like her) sometimes buy into her 'I'm just an ikkle child' spiel. She creeps me out.

As much as I dislike Zoella, not all of those tweets sound like her back then...some of them do but I wouldn’t be hugely surprised if they were doctored

As if she said she was proud of this pile of tat?? Such a joke that kids have spent their pocket money on this, while she sits in her £million house laughing that she’s flogged 10p cookie cutters and glitter for £50. So shameless!

If you searched “@zoella” with some of the key words from the tweets they were coming up as her tweets but it seems that they are deleted now.

Zoroaster has said in her latest video that she has no influence on the price. (Basically blaming Boots)

As the popular phrase on Twitter goes, usually when commenting on someone's public downfall, 'life comes at you fast'.

Yeeah, and now the woman-hating Twitter eggs are going to be unleashed... She (or her social media team) will be threatened multiple times a day with rape and death and bombarded with dick pics and images of her head photoshopped on someone else's body - Yes she's a greedy scammer, but once the Hate Machine gets going, particularly if it's a woman who has been caught 'in the wrong' the fall out is often vile.

I always assumed that she - and her ilk - weren't actually real people but a team of marketing and social media folks, and the one tweeting was some middle aged bloke called Colin, and her photo was just a library shot from shutterstock.

Article in telegraph today says boots are cutting the price to £25 from tomorrow after “listening to feedback”.

So what about the people who have already paid £50? Are they allowed to get half of their money back?

I really do think it was always intended to be slashed to half price for Black Friday. Hence why the contents were so poor - it had to be profitable at £25.

Who on earth opens their advent calendars before December to know what's behind the doors in the first place?!

This beauty advent calendar thing doesn't seem to be about advent calendars at all. There are whole threads on style and beauty with women buying 2-3-4 calendars at £50-150 each and opening them in October. They seem to be enjoying the option to buy loads of small versions of expensive products which is fine if they know what they are buying.
This I guess has filtered down to kids who want the same experience but realistically the stuff inside is always going to be tat.

To those wondering how she sleeps at night. Probably something like this...
