Crying about the death of exdp father?

We were together on and off for a couple of years and that ended about 3 years ago not in the slightest bit amicable. I’m now engaged to someone else but found out that today was exs fathers funeral and I feel sick and devastated.
I haven’t seen or spoken to any of the family since we split and I didn’t have the closest relationship with his father even though he was extremely close to ex.
Is this an overreaction?

Just wanted to give you a handhold. I hope you're ok. It's not an overreaction to be upset when someone you've known dies. Even if they're not in your life any more. Feel better x
