*Judas I meant. :)

2 people who were identical except for the 2nd X/ Y would look different due to that - a couple of inches on height for the boy, for example

And testicles . . .

SchadenfreudePersonified · 11/11/2017 09:28

What does the H in Jesus H Christ stand for?

The "H" is actually a combination of two Greek letters "Chi" (χ) and "Rho" (Ρ), (The first two letters of "CHRISTOS" "ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ" superimposed upon one another - you will often seat in churches embroidered onto stuff, where it looks a lot more like an "H" than it does on the Emperor Constantine's banner, which is where it came from.

The other alternative (which I much prefer, even as a practising Christian) is from the second line of the Lord's Prayer, misheard by a small child
"Our Father, which art in heaven,
HAROLD be thy name . . ."

Surely if Paul o Grady was involved dogs would feature more heavily?

Really want someone to tweet him a link to this thread.

If I were God implanting Jesus within Mary (who was if the story is true one of the first surrogate mothers) I would try to ensure the child looked like one of his parents so he would fit in so even if he did not have DNA as we know it and was not in any sense other than cultural Jewish he would have probably looked Jewish. The Turin shroud supposedly gives a likeness of his face.

On Jainism, I work on a particular event where we have lots of participants from the Indian subcontinent, and lots of them mark Jain as their religious belief. We provide catering as per the participants responses and it’s hilarious because they are all mad for chips and sneak them away from the other parts of the buffet.

The organisers now just order loads of chips as everyone eats them.

Lily

The fruit contains sugar. If there was no sugar it wouldn't keep at all.

It's no added sugar, not sugar free.

This is the exact argument I have with Dh Grin

I am really beginning to wonder if this thread has entered an alternate reality... Can this comment be serious??

Read an article today about a papyrus fragment that said Jesus had a wife. But looks as if it was fake.

Cardinal, where did you find that guide? I can't read it as it's too small.
Like a pp I have a son who looks like an anglo Jesus, by coincidence(or is it??) he also has an interest in communism and leaves towels on the floor. Am beginning to question his origins now. Maybe I am rather special after all.

Vicky1990 · 11/11/2017 18:07

Was Paul o Gradey married ?.

monkeywrench · 11/11/2017 18:11

My uncle is a vicar and he and my aunt gave my kids a book one year of the Nativity story (although we don't "do" God in this house) and their father (who isn't English) fabulously misread it once as

"Chris the Savage"

instead of

"Christ the Saviour"

He will always be Chris the Savage to me from now on.....

ilovepixie · 11/11/2017 18:17

Who is Paul OGrady ?

lily Savage 😂😂

Nightshirt · 11/11/2017 18:18

*Jesus the man almost certainly did exist. This is not really in dispute.

Actually it is. And of course. as well as the academic debate there is Red Dwarf.*

Majority of New Testament scholars say the person Jesus existed.

Jerseysilkvelour · 11/11/2017 18:20

Jesus Harold Christ Smile just practising!!

The Idea that God was careful enough to implant a genetically similar embryo when he performed the first IVF into the first surrogate mother so the child would look Jewish and fit in is just genius. Why was this left out of the bible?

toffeepumpkins · 11/11/2017 18:22

Who would have thought he'd come back as a kebab shop owner.

Why not, if Jason Donovan can own a kebab van in Bristol then why can't Jesus have a whole kebab shop?

supersop60 · 11/11/2017 18:24

The historian Josephus wrote about Jesus. Google him. He is considered a reliable source. Bearing in mind that the earliest gospel we know of wasn't written until about 64AD ie about 30 years after Jesus's death, (with the vaguest possibility by an eye witness) and all that we do know comes from the New Testament, it is hard to say how much of it is fact. We don't know when he was born (so stop talking about Spring etc) the birth stories are almost certainly allegorical. Even if they were true - it doesn't say how many wise men there were, it just says there were gifts of G F and M.
I could go on. Am loving this thread AND Paul O'Grady.
