To leave wee on my bed?

I’ve got a million things to do this evening and I’m going out in 10 minutes.

My 2 year old toddler has just done a wee on my bed after his bath. His wee isn’t particularly big or smelly, there’s a patch about 5cm.

I’m debating just leaving it there, this is after already changing my bedding twice in as many days after toddler got chocolate and pasta sauce over it, then puked over it.

How disgusting would it be to leave it now until next bed change as frankly I’m done with changing bedding and washing sheets.

It’s not disgusting. It’s not the height of cleanliness but I can’t get excited about a bit of toddler wee/dribble on an otherwise clean bed.

I love the suggestion to place a clean towel under your toddler while he’s naked. My 2 year old is like a greased up fish when I’m trying to get him dried and dressed after a bath. I’d need an XL size dust sheet

Do people really think it’s gross to change a nappy on a bed? I am much more slatternly than I thought. And I thought I was pretty bad.

buttwingsham · 07/11/2017 21:26

I can't believe some of the nasty responses of his thread.
Hell yes I would have left it! If I changed my bed everytime on of my 4dc did a little wee, wiped hands/nose on my bed i would have done it 5 times a day!
Wipe with a baby wipe and a spray of zoflora/dettol on a good day.

FlakeBook · 07/11/2017 21:49

I'm not going to lie, I would have left it or given it a scrub with a cloth or a wipe!

badg3r · 07/11/2017 22:21

Wait, you mean you were going to change the sheet, duvet cover and pillowcases? For a 5cm dribble of wee? I applaud your standards!

In our house we have thrown off the shackles of matching, ironed bed linen and live in crumpled technicolour. Vivre la révolution !

Sparrowlegs248 · 07/11/2017 22:26

I'd leave it. I change just about ALL nappies on the bed. Wasn't aware that this was an issue. Easier than the floor. Where else do you do it? I put a towel down first.

minipie · 07/11/2017 22:32

I've had this happen a couple of times. My compromise is to grab the wee'd on patch and rinse it well under the tap to rinse out the wee. Then put the wet patch away from where it will touch us when in bed.

gelbra · 07/11/2017 22:45

Wet wipes.
Kids toddler.
Leave house and forget about it...

Sancerresanwine · 07/11/2017 22:47

Wee on the bed will ruin the mattress surely?!?!! Always have a mattress protector on over here. HTH

Sancerresanwine · 07/11/2017 22:48

Sorry, wet nappy leaking?! What kind of nappies are you using?! The only time I've had a leaky nappy was when I left one on from 7pm till midday the next day by accident Grin

Cleanermaidcook · 07/11/2017 22:50

Fabreeze it!
I've slept on bigger wet patches after sex lmao! But mumsnet terse are an uptight bunch op.

Sancerresanwine · 07/11/2017 22:51

Oh I see. Rtft now. You have a mattress protector. All is well, as you were. But yes I'd still change it if I had the energy.

Sancerresanwine · 07/11/2017 22:51

Febreeze it, sweet jesus what is the world coming to

Misspilly88 · 07/11/2017 22:56

Id definitely leave it.

MammaTJ · 07/11/2017 23:00

Baby wee is different to adult wee, it actually does not count. I would leave it, chuck a towel over it to soak up the worst, then chucked the towel in the wash. I would then have done the bedding when I was good and ready.

TheLegendOfBeans · 07/11/2017 23:02

Just stick a newspaper on it

Will suck up the wetness and kill the aroma.

Tryingtogetitright · 07/11/2017 23:04

I'd leave it, I am a bit of a lazy one but even if I wasn't, it's only a dribble! Different if it was a big wee that left the bed sodden!

NowtAbout · 07/11/2017 23:10

Fuck me the beginning of this thread was like a stepford wife's sketch.

Sancerresanwine · 07/11/2017 23:11

Baby wee is different to adult wee, it actually does not count.

Err is that a scientifically proven fact?!

ShirleyPhallus · 07/11/2017 23:19

I'd like to hear more about this chocolate and pasta sauce please!

Babyjunglesafari · 07/11/2017 23:25

Shirley I’ve already explained what happened

OP posts:
lalliella · 07/11/2017 23:36

Sponge it. Ignore the judgers. Hope you enjoyed your night out.

confused123456 · 07/11/2017 23:41

I'd change it.
Fwiw I change my son on the sofa. Always have.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 10/11/2017 19:45

I’ve gone out wearing clothes that have been peed on...I’m obviously a new level of slattern Grin

Marriedwithchildren5 · 10/11/2017 19:57

Wee on the bed. Face wiped clothes. Snotty noses wiped with coats. Tops. We're all still here and doing well! I hope you left it. Plus you will probably forget tomorrow and no one would have known. Then you posted on mumsnet!
