To leave wee on my bed?

I’ve got a million things to do this evening and I’m going out in 10 minutes.

My 2 year old toddler has just done a wee on my bed after his bath. His wee isn’t particularly big or smelly, there’s a patch about 5cm.

I’m debating just leaving it there, this is after already changing my bedding twice in as many days after toddler got chocolate and pasta sauce over it, then puked over it.

How disgusting would it be to leave it now until next bed change as frankly I’m done with changing bedding and washing sheets.

@Sirzy there’s no way I would or could make my baby wait. He starts crying if he’s not on the breast within thirty seconds of being picked up. A nappy change would have him crying for too long, it would likely wake up my OH in the next room, and then I’d have to calm baby down before he would feed thus also prolonging how long we are up. I’d rather change him midfeed and run the risk of a bit of baby wee on the bed. By that point he’s generally happy enough to lie calmly and get changed even if that involves the sleepsuit too.

I have multiple sheets layered up with waterproof sheets so I only have to whip off the wet set to reveal the new, clean sheet below.

Mrscog · 07/11/2017 18:45

Against the grain here - I'd have dried up as much as possible, sprayed with zoflora to stave off any germs and then waited to see how badly it smelt. If very little (which is possible if he was well hydrated) I'd then wait until I do beds on friday! But then I have very low standards, don't find piss a particularly gross bodily fluid and I hate making beds!

When my son was a newborn and I burped him after a bottle he was projectile sick through a muslin square and onto my bed, I changed the sheets and fed him again (cluster feeder) and yes he was sick again, then he peed through his nappy, changed the sheets and the baby and fed him again ... ran out of sheets and patience and left the slightly posset-y sheets on the bed. It happens. Previous posters need to calm the fuck down before they get the vapours from all the pearl clutching.

Babyjunglesafari · 07/11/2017 18:51

Erm, we didn’t have food in the bedroom.

Toddler had had his tea and his dad had let him run around while he filled his bath up, toddler had mucky hands and face and it got on the duvet cover.

Nina I absolutely agree with you too, my son screamed his head off if he was changed when he was hungry and needed settling before he would eat. Life isn't always black and white id it?

MyGastIsFlabbered · 07/11/2017 18:53

Don’t feel bad OP, I’d have been tempted to leave it too.

2014newme · 07/11/2017 18:54

Ew. Put a nappy on him And wash his hands and face after meals and you won't be changing your bed so often! You're creating work for yourself!

Loosemoose28 · 07/11/2017 18:57

Isnt this what baby wipes are for?!?

Well at a 5cm squared patch I would have probably reached for a few baby wipes.

MrsPringles · 07/11/2017 18:59

Yeah I would have been tempted to leave it too.
A tiny bit of toddler wee isn’t going to do you much harm.

Babyjunglesafari · 07/11/2017 18:59

It really was only a dribble of wee there was a patch about 5cm.

The sick was because he’s been unwell, the sauce of from mucky hands.

There’s a waterproof sheet so it didn’t go on the mattress.

I wouldn’t leave a huge adult smelly piss on the bed but to be honest my bed never stays clean for long so just thought it wouldn’t kill to leave until weekly change.

He does wear a nappy 2014newme. I already said I’d literally just got him out of the bath, laid him on the bed for nappy and pyjamas when he started to run off and did a little wee.

As for the mucky hands he was under his dads watch when this happened but hey ho, I’m far more disgusting than I realised.

Wouldn't have even crossed my mind. I'd have stuck a towel between sheet and mattress.

A small amount of urine if the child is fully hydrated would barely smell at all wet/dry

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 07/11/2017 19:03

How about slide an unfolded nappy inside the duvet where the patch is and sponge off the wee with soapy water? I can understand, the cleaning up after a toddler is relentless. I know I've cut corners sometimes for my own sanity. Wink

whifflesqueak · 07/11/2017 19:03

I would definitively leave it.

But I am coming to the end of a run of child illnesses that have seen my sheets go through the wars. I have bed changing fatigue.

A 5cm dribble? I’d crawl into my lightly soiled sheets and sleep the sleep of the righteous.

JacquesHammer · 07/11/2017 19:03

pissy sheets make me gag

Arf

Buggeritimgettingup · 07/11/2017 19:04

Totally would have soaked it with a towel... Then slept on it

2014newme · 07/11/2017 19:04

The bed isn't the place to put nappies on!

2014newme · 07/11/2017 19:05

It just all sounds unhygienic. Changing nappy on bed, toddler wiping face on bed etc. Grimy.

willothewisp17 · 07/11/2017 19:08

Shock some of these responses! so rude! I assume you'll be changing it by now op, but contemplating leaving it doesn't make you some dirty minger Grin

Babyjunglesafari · 07/11/2017 19:09

2014newme you’re hilarious.

fannythrobbing · 07/11/2017 19:09

I had a refluxy baby. Quite quickly in the sleep deprived early days I realised my tolerance for gross had to change - the number of times I’ve slept in baby sick (with a muslin square over the top) can’t be easily counted. I’d have left the small wee (at least til the washer and or dryer had finished and I could change them the next day) and never have told a forum on the internet about it!

Unihorn · 07/11/2017 19:11

People need to chill out. I've left it after my 11 month old has weed a bit in my bed. I barely notice.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 07/11/2017 19:11

It was only putting a clean nappy and pyjamas on after the bath. Unless you follow a toddler everywhere brandishing wipes, they usually have some sort of grime on their faces.
I'm amazed how some people are repulsed and "gagging" Grin

diddl · 07/11/2017 19:14

Can't your husband do it if you changed it last time?
