Where in earth is "Santa" going to find this??

My DS is 6 years old and has requested a big house for his "guys" to live in (zomlings, star monsters, grossery gang etc). He doesn't really want much else in particular and he's had a hard time of things recently so I'd really like to get him what he wants for Christmas. I told him I'd see if I could find one to show Santa and he told me I don't need to look for anything because Santa can build any toy in the world!
Where the hell do I find a big house for little collectibles that isn't a normal dolls house?? Why can't he just want lego?? Confused

dotdotdotmustdash · 06/11/2017 22:43

How about finding a nice local carpenter and giving them a commission? Or possibly the woodwork dept of your local FE college?

The largest one is 1.4m tall. Shipping costs are very high though.

www.cardboardtoys.co.uk I saw this today, very boyish I thought!

You little Wally when DS was 3 the only thing he wanted was a sheep. He had worked out where it would sleep and everything. Grin

This looks brilliant, but its a DIY job.

WishingOnABar · 06/11/2017 22:48

Op just thinking outside the box, you can create some pretty epic containers using hamster tube cages. Here’s just an example from google of ‘interesting hamster tube cages’ . That would look space age and could be built up to suit the size required

Yes I second the bookshelf. He could have it as tall as himself then. Paint it colours he likes. Hate bullies, hope he has a happy Christmas 🎄

BabyOrSanta · 06/11/2017 22:48

Not followed all the links but what about one of those cardboard rabbit houses?
With "cat flaps" in different sizes for all the different size guys? Then a craft kit and note from Santa saying he didn't have time to decorate it so could DS do it for them (the guys)

Lidl... not too girly?

Ylvamoon · 06/11/2017 22:53

Maybe find a crafty relative / friend, show them the poster and convert one of them CD towers??
(They come in all sizes & can be as tall as your DS!!!)

heateallthebuns · 06/11/2017 22:59

I thought of hamster cages too wishing! They look just like op's picture of what he wants!

What about this

Both Plan toys and Melissa and Doug used to do fab treehouse style play sets, but I can't find them currently available.

Maybe try hunting for jungle/safari/treehouse dolls houses?

LatinforTelly · 06/11/2017 23:13

Ha ha, I read to the end to see if anyone had said hamster cages once OP had posted the picture he likes!

blanklook · 06/11/2017 23:18

Is this too babyish ? I'd remove the figures it comes with as they di look 'young' but the main bit may be okay?

Not sure how big these dolls are - but if you google "collectible display cases" you get lots of options including acrylic ones that look a bit space agey. You could put a roof on it or otherwise decorate it with stickers (or give him stickers to decorate it).

This kind of thing but they do lots of bigger ones

The hamster tubes look like his picture! Now how the hell am I going to magically attach them to a "guys house" as tall as him Confused

For smaller ones there's little things called grossery gang (almost like a mix of zomblings and shopkins, basically gross food) and they do playsets/buildings. Also, some of the batman buildings like arkham asylum etc would make a fab home for them.

PointlessUsername · 06/11/2017 23:28

Not followed all the links so sorry if it has been linked to previously.

how about this?

ArabellaRockerfella · 06/11/2017 23:32

Mothercare do a 'house bookcase' on their website.
Also if you do a search for 'house bookcase' then loads come up.
