Where in earth is "Santa" going to find this??

My DS is 6 years old and has requested a big house for his "guys" to live in (zomlings, star monsters, grossery gang etc). He doesn't really want much else in particular and he's had a hard time of things recently so I'd really like to get him what he wants for Christmas. I told him I'd see if I could find one to show Santa and he told me I don't need to look for anything because Santa can build any toy in the world!
Where the hell do I find a big house for little collectibles that isn't a normal dolls house?? Why can't he just want lego?? Confused

This on Amazon ?

boredofmyoldname · 06/11/2017 22:28

Would this work?

Quick sand and a lick of paint and maybe some vinyl stickers and I think it'd look great!

Ahh, sorry too small Sad

Monster high dolls house? Tiny bit pink but has skulls/cobwebs and lights up

WishingOnABar · 06/11/2017 22:30

Can you get to a costco? m.costco.co.uk/view/p/kidkraft-hometown-heroes-wooden-playset-3-years-154277

This one is cute, bit pricey though. Look for chalet style wooden doll houses.

Alternatively something with lots of cubby holes that can be dressed as rooms?

Or a wooden toy garage?

"what do you think the house should look like?"

I think a bit futuristic. He has a poster on his wall and says he wishes it were real so his guys could live in it. I'll try to attach a pic.

Mine has a Scooby doo haunted house. I'll see if I can find it..

TheSpottedZebra · 06/11/2017 22:32

How housey does it have to be?
What about adapting peg board and tool storage, maybe on a house shaped background?
THIS type of thing?

Or a blackboard wall with shelves/box shelves on, and the house can be drawn in and then erased/redrawn as and when?

NotSureIfiAmWell · 06/11/2017 22:32

I want this!

Can you get a crafty friend or relative to adapt an IKEA Billy book case as shown in pp link. It would probably be as tall as him then. You can buy doors for the book case so it would just be a case of putting in extra shelves and dividing them into 'rooms' and sorting out something roofish!

My daughter has the kidkraft pirate cove, which she uses to play with all sorts of small figures. Very non girly but not sure how grown up it is, compared the fire station you've already got rid of. The rocket ship might work too - it has tiered platforms which would display things well.

Handmethegin · 06/11/2017 22:36

Notsureifiamwell that's what he's just grown out of

traviata · 06/11/2017 22:38

YouLittleWally · 06/11/2017 22:38

Ah that’s nothing my DS has asked for a remote control tree!!

newperson · 06/11/2017 22:39

Totally wrong thread 😱

TheBlackLodge · 06/11/2017 22:39

Plain cardboard one that you/he can paint, stick stickers on etc?

jellybeanteaparty · 06/11/2017 22:39

How about the Ikea Kallax shelves? You can get removable insert boxes that he could adapt and decorate with scenery etc and the box's removed if friends came round and he felt sensitive about it??

boredofmyoldname · 06/11/2017 22:39

Kidkraft rocket is very cool!

Handmethegin · 06/11/2017 22:39

Omg notsureiamwell that wooden one is awesome!!!!
