I know Miranda Yardley has been speaking out for a long time but I've never heard of Debbie Hayton before. Perhaps if more trans people are given a platform to share their perspective on how this is bad for them too then people might start to have a rethink?

I saw that too and was totally relieved. I knew a few transwomen when I was into LGBT activism when I was at uni and I've thought in recent years that they must be shocked now at how things have gone. I was really interested in her point that self determination also erodes transpeople's rights, because if anyone can be transsexual, noone is - there's no difference then in the law between someone who's done the 2 years real life test and had surgery and hormones at the one end and someone who yesterday that they feel like the other gender now. Another gender. Whatever. Fuck gender, really.
