Is what i was screaming at the telly Just now.

Light hearted, but.....
Ok, so had Victoria Derbyshire on the background just now. The piece was about the surprise exit of Aston on strictly. I don’t watch strictly, but apparently people were sending in messages about how he did not deserve the exit. Anyway, Victoria was talking to this man about it and all he kept saying was that people should not complain if they don’t phone to vote for him. He was quite smug as he said it.

I always get so annoyed when Simon Cowel and co say this as if the calls are free. I’m sure they put you on hold and take forever on those premium rate call so they can get closer to £10 or so from each call.

Calls for these shows are automated and cost around 35p each. X Factor also has an app where you can vote for free a certain amount of times

Redcrayons · 06/11/2017 11:27

You can vote for free on the Strictly website.

I don't know about X Factor but it costs nowhere near £10. No bugger would vote if it did.

FYI: Aston was robbed.

Floralnomad · 06/11/2017 11:27

I also don’t watch Strictly , but I do know that you can vote 3x on the bbc website and it costs nothing .

Hiphopopotamus · 06/11/2017 11:28

You really think one vote on Strictly or the X factor costs £10? Hmm

derekthe1adyhamster · 06/11/2017 11:29

But it's free to vote online for strictly.
I voted for Susan and am pleased Aston left. missespoint

IHaveBrilloHair · 06/11/2017 11:31

Aston shouldn't have gone but then neither should Mollie, and I adore AJ so glad he stayed

InternetHoopJumper · 06/11/2017 11:36

Are you required to provide any personal details such as a phone or email address for those those "free" online and app votes? Because if so, it's not free. Actively used email addresses and phone numbers are quite valuable. I would even say more than 35p.

alwaysprepare · 06/11/2017 11:37

I have not voted in ages, but I do remember an extra charge on top of your normal supplier charge. £10 is exaggerated, but I do remember holding on for a while as an automated voice slowly talked me through everything. I think I just imagined someone ‘s Nan who can’t use the computer phoning in every week
Lol

I think you're thinking back many years ago when shows got in trouble for the charges and rates and the length of time on the phone.

2014newme · 06/11/2017 12:04

Op You can vote online for free for strictly.
Thus you're talking nonsense in regards to Aston

LagunaBubbles · 06/11/2017 12:07

Clearly not enough people voted for him if he was voted out, whether people think he should have gone or not.
