Any suggestions re dds party

Posting for traffic. But I'm in a mess. I'm hosting a film party tomorrow for dd and her friends. They're 9 & 10 years old.
What can they watch? It needs to be about 1.5hrs long, engaging, funny and appropriate for their age.
Any suggestions!!? Help!

I agree you stick to age rating with other peoples kids

Surprised people don't think!

DS was allowed to play an 18 game at 9, funny he never visited that friend again

The original Annie is a great suggestion

My DD1 had her 9th birthday today. They’ve all watched Disney Descendants 2. The first Descendants is well watched within her friendship group so they loved it.

Not Grease - the messaging in that is so bloody depressing.

Bouncingbelle · 04/11/2017 21:06

Go for a classic - Born Free!

Sugarcoma · 04/11/2017 21:09

Has to be Clueless!

Sing is light hearted and funny.

Thanks for all the great ideas everyone. My dds have watched honey I shrunk the kids, clueless and mean girls recently. So they're out. I also had to ff through a few scenes in mean girls.
Dd1 has had a few ideas. We were thinking, school of rock, the parent trap, cheaper by the dozen, herbie fully loaded or freaky friday.
We also have most Disney films on DVD if need be. Glad to see lots of people have mentioned these too.

DD's 10 and loves any Japanese anime and Harry Potter.

KeepItAsItIs · 04/11/2017 22:51

Labyrinth. Introduced that to my DCs, they liked it.

Recently abbc and grease have been very popular with my daughter and her friends. (Aged 10 to 11). Makes them feel very grown up.

Beetlejuice

CupofBeans · 04/11/2017 23:42

I love beetle juice! And so does my 9 year old dd!

We did a film night sleepover recently with Jumanji ( the old one) great as it was age appropriate and just a little bit scary. I saw someone up thread suggested it too.

I also printed off some trivia about the film. And then asked a couple of question in a quiz and the end which went down really well. Easy to find on Google. The winner got a big bag of haribo which was promptly shared out.
