Remember that scene in Love Actually where wife finds necklace intended for mistress?

I hope this is light hearted and has funny ending!

It's a special occasion and by accident I found DH has recently (few weeks ago) ordered an expensive gift (the sort you only give to partners or close family) BUT, earlier he gave me a little gift and went on his way. I'm grateful of course but now wondering...

Will I get the gift later..... or should I worry?! He's not organised enough to be sorted now for Christmas and I can't think of any family occasions....

^top right

ewen1234 · 03/11/2017 20:45

I think the Jonie Mitchell song made that scene all the more emotional (luved that movie)

OP if you can bide your time, (and it will be really frustrating) WAIT until Christmas and see if you get this as a gift. If not, confront him...

Do you check your bank statements?? Is it a joint account, could he have paid for this using a credit card??

I hope for your sake that it IS for you, but then again even if it IS for you, you clearly dont trust your man??

Happy ending! 😀 I received beautiful present out this evening! I am very lucky but this thread is not a stealth boast! It became obvious from behaviour en route to destination

Of course he could have been alerted to this thread and done a hasty 180 but it is much more his style to make me wait because he thought it would be funnier (in a light hearted way, not mean)

Sorry for all the drama... nothing to see here...

But on a serious note I am very grateful and very aware of how it can all change etc., which makes me realise more that I should appreciate these moments!

OP....I'd have to say something! If he doesn't give it to you within the day, surely you'd say something!

iknowimcoming · 03/11/2017 20:50

Awww - I do love a happy ending Wink

KitKat1985 · 03/11/2017 20:50

Yay! Happy ending! Smile

Amiinloveactually · 03/11/2017 20:50

Also why he had to wake me up at god forsaken o'clock to give me (slightly more than chocolate bar equivalent) is quite beyond me but I guess all part of the master plan 🙂
