Breastfeeding, co-sleeping, broken nights

There are regularly threads started on MN about months of broken nights, breastfeeding and having babies sleeping in bed with you.
I'm not trying to be goads or unsympathetic, just trying to compare styles of parenting young babies. Maybe it's a generational thing as I'm 52. All 3 of mine were breastfed from birth for 3 weeks then bottle fed.
They weren't rocked to sleep and were often put to bed at night awake.
None ever co slept with us. They all went through the night from a matter of weeks old and all were good settled sleepers. I'm not saying our way was better but it seemed a lot simpler.

@Jessikita that not sleep-training, that’s just common sense.

I used to turn all the lights on at bedtime, stick the telly on, wave toys at DD and give her some Redbull

Juancornetto there’s no need to be so nasty and spiteful. I actually know quite a lot of parents who lack what I also feel is common sense and take their babies down to watch TV etc or do play with them.

Katee87 I agree. To me it’s common sense to according to a lot of members on Facebook groups asking to advice its sleep training! And it’s the worst thing ever the routine I employ.
You’d be surprised who many people lack this common sense.

Then why did you post OP if not to act superior? And is it true none of your babies cried when put down in the cot “awake”? I think you’re either telling porkies, you left then to cry.. or your memory just isn’t serving you well

How do you breastfeed if not on demand?
Surely you don’t just leave a hungry baby to cry until a set time...
