TO NOT WANT FUCKING AMAZON PRIME?

herecomesthsun · 02/11/2017 20:46

I did not even click for it! And it appears impossible to unsubscribe!

This happened a couple of years ago and I eventually found a phone number that worked, but, hey, it was a lot of work and why should I have to go to a load of trouble?

I do not want FUCKING FUCKING Amazon Prime, I do not want it in a boat, I do not want it on a train, I do not want it in the rain...
Angry

And yes yes it is my fault for using Amazon, maybe I should give up Amazon.

I don't want amazon prime either and it's a pain to have to negotiate around it when i order something. I rarely order from amazon any more.

QueenLetizia · 03/11/2017 07:48

I saw a charge for usd to amazon prime on my account. Took a lot of huffing and puffing to get reimbursed. Drives me mad. Who asks for this stress. So weird too as in the past i ordered board games from amaxon.com to send to niece in usa, i had not used it recently norr even visited the site!
Massive scam!!

QueenLetizia · 03/11/2017 07:49

I deleted my card details after that.
Dont trust them.

disahsterdahling · 03/11/2017 07:53

My DH has it, because he accidentally clicked on it! It's very difficult to avoid at times. But then he looked at it and thought it was actually quite good. We did want a household account until it looked like you could see everything the other party was buying, and had to use the same payment details. We didn't want that, so we decided not to bother, so if I want something right now rather than the usual 2-3 days I'll get DH to order it.

I liked being able to watch The Man in the High Castle. I think it is worth it.

SweetEnough · 03/11/2017 07:57

Could you, would you, with a goat?

Temporaryanonymity · 03/11/2017 08:06

It has some great TV shows. I have it just for that. It is worth every plenty I think.

Tippexy · 03/11/2017 08:10

It sounds like you may have difficulties with understanding technology? It’s very easy to simply not sign up to Prime in the first place, and if you do you receive emails and so on informing you of the Ts & Cs.

You also don’t need to email them to cancel. You can cancel it online yourself or even by doing the online chat facility.

teraculum29 · 03/11/2017 08:18

not sure where you have problem with cancelling but it's sooo easy to do it. just few clicks.

MaroonPencil · 03/11/2017 08:19

It is not"so very easy" not to sign up for it in the first place (double negative alert) so less of the supercilious attitude please. As someone else said they are manipulative bastards and in addition to bombarding you with ads etc they put subscribe buttons right next to ordering buttons etc, so in fact it is incredibly easy to subscribe by accident. I have done it and I am an online editor and spend hours online every day so don't think I am technologically illiterate.

Germgirl · 03/11/2017 08:22

I love Prime. I used Prime Now the other day for the first time. Batteries for the cat flap delivered an hour after I ordered them at 10pm. I had to add some waffle mix to them to make up the minimum price for delivery but that was no problem and the waffles tasted lovely :)
My dad must have accidentally clicked on Prime about six times in the last few years so I see how it's done but it's very easy to cancel.

RidingWindhorses · 03/11/2017 08:22

Aside from the fact that it's super-easy to unsubscribe, you only think you don't want it, you do really. Unlimited next day delivery is one of the best things that has happened to me. Amazon instant video is another - MITHC, Outlander, the Bureau Grin

glow1984 · 03/11/2017 08:23

I work in customer service and you sound like one of my customers. “I can’t find this button”

“It’s in the top right as soon as you log in”

Lol

Anyway, it’s actually really easy to unsubscribe and it’s great value for money! I love next day delivery.

So yeah, I think YABU :D

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 03/11/2017 08:24

Order books and DVDs (and music, if you still buy physical format) from Hive instead, OP. They don't charge for p&p so if you're ordering just one or two things they're often cheaper than Amazon, and there's no attempt to sucker you into signing up for something when you think you're just clicking free delivery.

HotelEuphoria · 03/11/2017 08:27

I also got caught, but I realised quite quickly - like the same day and then cancelled the 30 day trial straight away. I then used all its benefits for the free month to make them pay the cheeky baskets.

LIZS · 03/11/2017 08:28

I found it really straightforward to unsubscribe online after dh accidentally activated a free trial.

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/11/2017 08:29

I've had two years of free Amazon Prime, simply by complaining every time they have failed to deliver when they said they would...

RidingWindhorses · 03/11/2017 08:30

The Hive is much more expensive than Amazon for DVDs.

DollyMcDolly · 03/11/2017 08:33

I will never unsubscribe from Prime. I love it. Worth every penny. It’s also very easy to unsubscribe. I tried last year to see if I could do it after a lot of fuss on here and found it straight away

MissTakexxx · 03/11/2017 08:33

Don't talk to me about Amazon! I've spent the last 2 months trying to close down my whole Amazon account after someone hacked into it twice and stole money from me - including taking out an Amazon Prime subscription. Not got anything back either. I had to change my bank card twice and they still accessed my account, even though I changed the password and verification details more than once.

Once it's been properly closed - and I'm still waiting for confirmation after several long long premium rate calls to their helpline where neither I nor the operative could understand each other - I'd actually like to be able to open another account, as Amazon is so useful. But does anyone know how to ensure security of all your details, if it's been so easy for someone to hack into mine and steal from me?

I've stopped using Amazon for this very reason. I'd honestly rather pay more or go without. Arseholes.

Arrrgh I inadvertently clicked the trial button the other day. Now I’m also suffering from amazon prime panic.

Mossend · 03/11/2017 09:17

I have to deal with his every day at work. Customers say they've never signed up for it but without fail there is a debit to Amazon the previous month, where free delivery had been clicked.
Amazon also send out email to advise the trail period is coming to an end,
I'd contact Amazon to request a refund but also contact your bank to request a cancellation on your continuous payment authority which should stop this happening in the future

Kintan · 03/11/2017 09:24

I’m another one who doesn’t understand why you are finding it so difficult to cancel. If you can’t find the option to do it yourself, just start a live chat, or email [email protected]
