To wonder why my teen is stealing sugar?

Tessliketrees · 02/11/2017 20:28

One of my kids (both teens) is stealing the sugar. I don't know which one.

I noticed a brand new bag of sugar had vanished last week, I assumed it had been spilled by one of the kids who had failed to mention it. Actually that didn't really make sense at the time because neither of them is capable of cleaning a bag of sugar so well. Either way I forgot all about it.

Now a second bag has disappeared.

It's not me, its not DH. Nobody else has had access.

What the fuckity fuck is going on?

If you cut cocaine with bicarb, wouldn't it go all fizzy up your nose?

Different drugs have different cutting agents.

Cocaine is more than likely cut with benzocaine or lactose.

Some amphetamine/methyamphetanine is cut with bicarb as it's believed to prolong the effects.

Amphetamine, methylamphetamine and ecstasy powders are occasionally cut with sugar as they are very bitter and are swallowed rather than snorted.

Well this thread has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride, with the weird drug arguments near the end (for what its worth, I'd cut MDMA with sugar as then it might taste slightly more palatable!)

Anyone I reckon its alcohol, sugar wine is a big thing with teens where I live so maybe they've been spreading the word on the internet en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilju

hendricksyousay · 04/11/2017 11:10

@CoteDAzur isn’t inhaling baby powder really dangerous ?

FaithEverPresent · 04/11/2017 11:38

Well I’ve read the full thread, still curious to know the answer but I do feel somewhat educated on the cutting of drugs and pet mould. I would be tempted to sit them all down and then walk up and down in front of them and say I know one of you is stealing sugar and we are not leaving til I get to the bottom of this. I would grill them and see who squirms!

Sharl2017 · 04/11/2017 12:27

OP, will we ecer know what happened to the sugar?

Sharl2017 · 04/11/2017 12:28

Ecer/ever Blush

You need to get into this quickly before they realise you are into them and make a plausible excuse.

Just asked ds who said he's either supplying the common room or he's gsslighting his mum so she will go mad and hand over all her money.

BertrandRussell · 04/11/2017 13:28

but probably it's the common room.

auntantigone · 04/11/2017 13:37

I think one of them is just eating it in front of the tv I used to do that . Are you strict re sweets OP? Does one of your children have a sweet tooth or tend to comfort eat?

Therealslimshady1 · 04/11/2017 14:29

My parents were very strict with sweets, and if my mum was out my brother and I would eat sugar sandwiches or try to make toffee (by quickly boiling up sugar, treacle and ovaltine powder, pouring it into mugs and spooning it up before it set)
