To wonder why my teen is stealing sugar?

One of my kids (both teens) is stealing the sugar. I don't know which one.

I noticed a brand new bag of sugar had vanished last week, I assumed it had been spilled by one of the kids who had failed to mention it. Actually that didn't really make sense at the time because neither of them is capable of cleaning a bag of sugar so well. Either way I forgot all about it.

Now a second bag has disappeared.

It's not me, its not DH. Nobody else has had access.

What the fuckity fuck is going on?

You can cut ketamine with sugar. And shit dealers do. I know fron experience. (Not that I was dealing or taking drugs) but I was stood in the same kitchen where he refilled all his bags with sugar and then left to go sell it.

If it is drugs, you think the teen dealer is going to neatly measure out the required amount in his mum's kitchen? No, he's going to swipe the whole bag, cut the drugs somewhere they don't think they'll get caught, and dump the rest of the bag.

I don't think people cut drugs with sugar - it's the wrong texture.

Assuming he wasn’t doing it just to mess with you & have a laugh, that “dealer” must have been very new & clueless, with a very short life expectancy

As I said before nobody in their right mind would cut drugs with sugar, because the first thing anyone does, often before buying, is to have a taste. Drugs have very distinctive (usually horribly bitter) tastes. Nobody would buy sweet-tasting cocaine or ketamine.

The student had made a set of crockery and set a 12 piece setting, he/she had then ordered a takeway and sat with 5 friend at one end, eaten and thrown the food about whilst taking photos and left the mouldy plates and photos as art.

I would say eldest is taking sugar for the common room. If you have 30/40 kids drinking numerous brews you’ll need a fair bit of sugar.

Either that or the more obvious.. someone is living in your loft and is only eating sugar. Check your loft for empty sugar packets.

I love the people scoffing that no dealer would cut drugs with sugar. That may well be true but a clueless teenager may well try to do just that. You are assuming he and potentially his friends have a clue what they are doing.

I doubt OP teen is a dealer if he was involved in drugs it would be being a dealers distributor which again wouldn’t involve cutting the drugs.

Cut = Mixed with other (cheaper) stuff like flour or baby powder.

Mixed with to make go further and therefore make more money. As above flour and baby powder. Also brick dust, rat poison, and worming tablets in my experience.
