To ask about pubic hair removal?

I’m quite new here not sure where to post this so feel free to move the post.

I just wonder if you remove your pink hair how do you do it? Shaving is making me so sore and itchy, hair removal cream doesn’t seem to work too well, Home waxing kit was pointless and pretty much just took my skin off (ouch!)

Is a proper wax the only way?

Any tips or tricks?

Thank Smile

When does it stop??? I've spent 35 years ensuring I've no hair past my eyebrows, and I'm sick of it,I'm sick of it growing back every time I've shaved it off.im praying it stops with menopause..I didn't use to mind..but it's pissing me off big time now..

MelodyvonPeterswald · 01/11/2017 20:20

This
Pubic hair signifies sexual maturity. Finding it attractive is perfectly normal. Men have been conditioned out of it, just as women have subsequently been conditioned to remove

100%. The shocking things is that it has happened so quickly. Men like the H of bettermumthanyou stating that they would leave their wives unless they made their genitals look like those of child. And our collective response is a shrug and to say "Yeah that's sounds entirely reasonable"

speakout · 01/11/2017 20:22

Tammy I agree.

Laceup
I've spent 35 years ensuring I've no hair past my eyebrows
What is driving that behaviour?
I'm sick of it
Your hair growing back makes you sick?

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 01/11/2017 20:24

Hi all,
We have quite a few reports coming in about this thread, and have made quite a few deletions. Rather than make this place a wasteland we've left some that quote earlier posts, so some sense will remain, but if anyone feels strongly that they want them removed do report in and we will deal with them. Might be a good idea for some people to step away for a bit, thought, as things seem to have become rather irritable.

I've no hair past my eyebrows
Tell me you don't also wax your nostrils like LyingWitch

Laceup · 01/11/2017 20:28

Oh dear...I posted ,then read a bit of the thread...what happpened????.. think I will skip reading the rest...melody,my point I was trying to make was ,I just wish it would stop growing...ive spent a long time shaving and it's tiresome 🙁

MelodyvonPeterswald · 01/11/2017 20:33

You wish your body would stop doing something that is entirely natural, evolved over millions of years and serves a clear biological benefit?

Good luck with that.
Out of interest how much do you think you've spent doing this over the last 35 years? Please also reassure me that you haven't also fall for the nostril waxing nonsense!

Laceup · 01/11/2017 20:36

Far too long, when the time could of been better spent elsewhere I expect..and no to the nose hair, not even a sniff of a hair😁..

MelodyvonPeterswald · 01/11/2017 20:37

What makes you do it?

Laceup · 01/11/2017 20:43

Who knows, why does anyone do anything....but you can always tell when I'm depressed as it starts to grow back a bit and I'm not on top of the trimming..just like my friend with her nails, beautiful they are,yet if she's a bit down she dosnt do them,so you can tell ,she's down..

user1497997754 · 01/11/2017 20:44

I just use sensitive hair removing cream and just get rid...

ch0c0milk · 01/11/2017 20:47

I made this post yesterday and now I can’t log back in so made a new account. Sorry if things have gone wrong. I was just wondering. Thanks for the replies

MelodyvonPeterswald · 01/11/2017 20:52

Laceup

Who knows, why does anyone do anything

Thanks for your honesty. Your answer above sums up a classicly conditioned behaviour. I'm encouraging women to think about the reason why they think they ought to do something, the reason why they believe having a period and a hairy minge is gross (User1437whatever's words), the reason why you spend time and money (thousands and thousands of pounds) to take your genitals back to a prepubescent look.

I don't believe the root motivations come from women themselves

Laceup · 01/11/2017 20:55

I get rid because I don't like it..same with leg hair and underarm hair

MelodyvonPeterswald · 01/11/2017 20:56

And I've got to say, Laceup

you can always tell when I'm depressed as it starts to grow back

I am really concerned that you seem to have associated your depression with something that is entirely natural and actually a key sign of good health.

Laceup · 01/11/2017 20:57

They are never going to look prepubescent thou,I'm getting old,and I've birthed 4 kids,so a prepubescent look really isn't going to happen ..

MelodyvonPeterswald · 01/11/2017 20:57

Yes but the point is WHY don't you like it?

BertrandRussell · 01/11/2017 20:57

Laceup-then why not just let it grow?

Laceup · 01/11/2017 21:00

No melody,my point was....if I get a bit drepessed ,I'm not on top of the shaving, legs and whatnot, bit like my make up,if my depression gets bad I don't do my make up and shaving everything dosnt happen..

Laceup · 01/11/2017 21:01

What about you Russell,do you sport a full minge

MelodyvonPeterswald · 01/11/2017 21:01

So why do you not like something about your body that I entirely natural?

BertrandRussell · 01/11/2017 21:02

"What about you Russell,do you sport a full minge"

Well, I have pubic hair, yes. If that's what you mean.

MelodyvonPeterswald · 01/11/2017 21:05

Did you notice the opprobrium in the way the question was worded? Like "Having a full minge" is something so wrong and revolutionary.

It is natural and healthy

Laceup · 01/11/2017 21:06

So I take it melody you are flying the flag in support of pubes...no trimming of yr bush?..what makes you like it so much?? I suppose it must keep you warm in winter😁And ofcourse it's how nature intended
