Surely anyone that calls a woman that at work should be sacked immediately?!

That's very Mel Gibson! I had a local builder call me that once as I walked home and I whipped around and said 'hello, saggy balls'

I'm not feisty and it was a daft retaliation but I guess it got the message across.

Not acceptable at work but not necessarily sackable

Holdtightdontletgo · 30/10/2017 08:08

Disgusting. How degrading for the PA who had to do that and probably felt she couldn't refuse.

chaosisaladder · 30/10/2017 08:11

He’s my local MP or he was and he’s disgusting.

pringlecat · 30/10/2017 08:11

Having never watched Gavin and Stacey - was the original reference actually funny? It sounds offensive to me, but perhaps I'm missing a load of context. Genuine question.

Slartybartfast · 30/10/2017 08:19

Nessa's boyfriend, Dave, called her Sugartits.
Nessa is Stacey's friend, played by Ruth Jones

Slartybartfast · 30/10/2017 08:19

And it was funny,

Noimbrianfromhull · 30/10/2017 08:54

Sugartits was around for years before Gavin and Stacey too.

There is no reason why an mp would call his pa sugartits that isn’t awful. He should know better. If Gavin and Stacey viewers choose to refer to each other that way that’s their choice but if my boss did it to me I’d be furious and humiliated. These are supposed to be the best and brightest that represent us, not fuckwits who think they’re Gene Hunt.

taytopotato · 30/10/2017 09:04

Unfortunately, Mark Garnier seems to have a huge majority.

Ttbb · 30/10/2017 09:05

I think that anyone who says that aloud should first be rushed to the emergency room for an urgent brain
scan.

9000MilesFromHome · 30/10/2017 09:07

Sacked? Immediately? No.

I assumed you were talking about the hilarious youtuber.

HandbagKrabby · 30/10/2017 09:28

What does a Tory mp have to do to get sacked anyway? It seems sexually harassing your pa isn’t that big of a deal. I think as person with a position of responsibility he should be held to a higher account than your mate that calls you sugartits in the pub for a laugh.

skustew · 30/10/2017 10:05

Exactly!

Sugartits!! How did the poor woman not snap and break his nose, creep.

Iwouldratherbemuckingout · 30/10/2017 13:10

MPs are held to a higher level of behaviour - the NOLAN principles set out the standards expected of those in public office. Frankly, this is disgraceful and if he was a senior officer (rather than politician) this would be considered gross misconduct and he would be suspended pending an investigation.

Vile.

eddiemairswife · 30/10/2017 13:30

Even worse than 'sugartits' is the vibrator buying. One for his wife and one for 'another woman'. What can he be thinking of? Oddly enough, he was on the midlands section of the Sunday Politics yesterday and not a word about it was mentioned, which made me wonder if the regional parts are pre-recorded.

CaptainHarville · 30/10/2017 13:48

Look at Jonathan Nunn currently leader of Northampton Borough Council guilty of ABH but his career hasn't suffered because you know the victim was his wife so who cares? I can't believe what white middle aged men seem to be able to get away with. The same bloke at one time was in arrears with his Council tax!

It all stinks and there needs to be a massive shake up as to who is in public office and the role the media plays in effectively deciding what will or will not end a career.

SkyBlue17 · 30/10/2017 16:25

It is certainly very confusing and just depends on how much political flack and publicity there is about something as to whether someone's position becomes untenable. This sex pest power in the work place is worse than an MP having a consensual affair but has never been taken very seriously by people. Yet women have to endure it all the time.

Pumperthepumper · 30/10/2017 16:41

He's repulsive and should be sacked.

StickThatInYourPipe · 30/10/2017 16:44

This^^ 1000000x this!!

I am amazed at the portrayed outrage at 'sugartits' when this was also going on!

chocdog · 30/10/2017 16:48

Unfortunately, Mark Garnier seems to have a huge majority.

It should be easy for Theresa May to get rid of him then if it's a safe Tory seat. Does she have the backbone though?
