What do you make of this child and residential road

I have a neighbour who has two children one of them who is 2 nearly 3 years old. We live on a residential street but it’s one of the main access roads (only two) in the whole area to the rest of the houses so there’s a car going last every few minutes.

Every single day without fail she loads the younger child into the car and lets the 2 year old run up and down the path but he runs around the car which is parked on the road and across peoples drives (so he really could get knocked down at any point).

She always goes back into the house for bags etc then comes out and looks for her son to put him into the car. I just don’t understand why she thinks it’s ok to do this it’s only a matter of time before he gets hurt and I worry when I see him running up and down my path and around the car on the road.

Sometimes she has to call as she can’t see him as he’s hiding behind a car.

I can’t even say anything can I

Yeh I'm sure you can. Your a neighbour, I had some random man I never seen before shout across the road to me to "watch my child or he will get run over" he was on the pavement and there were no cars. Dunno what his problem was tbh. So I imagine you could say something

It's okay the kid running up and down the path isn't it? By path in assuming you mean pavement. Not so much running round the car though. You could totally pull her to one side and say, "you probably don't realise but when you go inside your little boy sometimes goes out into the road to run around your parked car. I just wanted to let you know because I couldn't bear it if anything happened".

We don’t have front gardens (only tiny little flowerbed type bits) as these new-builds have all our parking out back etc apart from her who likes to park on the road out front so when I say path I don’t mean her private path I mean the path that runs along the houses.

Four houses share back parking so you actually drive under like an archway to get to the parking so he runs across the archway which means of a car was driving out he would literally appear out of nowhere

Well just mention it. It's not a massive deal.

Pavement?

Natural selection I'm afraid. If she does this in full view I can only imagine what is going on inside the house. Some people are just mad.
