I used to work in a pub with a large function room. :D
Mostly it was just very drunk people and people bringing in "presents" that look suspiciously like a wrapped box of carling or a gift bag with a bottle in.
My worst ever was the Irish traveller wedding we had. Who the fuck booked it I do not know.
About a week before people were warning us "nail everything down" etc, and I just thought, "don't be so horrible, that's so prejudiced, they're probably lovely people."
They were not lovely people.
Some of the incidents were:
-
We had multiple kids (I mean under 10 years old) on red bulls all day. And I mean from lunch time till midnight. You can imagine.
-
We had to wedge the bar doors closed to stop the kids running behind the bars to nick things. And we had to move all crisps, bottles and charity boxes out of reach for same reason.
-
Multiple blokes were pissing outside/on the decking.
-
One of the other bar maids got accidentally passed a little bag of pills that the bloke had left wrapped in his HUGE wedge of notes. She just passed it back to him . . .
-
General fighting and arguments all day long
-
A couple having sex by the bins outside
-
They all ordered taxis but none of them paid for them so we had about 10 people left at about 1am that no taxi firm would come for. I got kicked in the shins by a little kid and sworn at because I wouldn't let them nick the tablecloths because they had no coats. They asked all of us multiple times for lifts.
Me: "I don't drive." Them: "Can't you phone your bloke to come give us a lift? We'll pay him."
They badgered and pestered and wouldn't leave until finally the police were called.
Who gave them all a lift home.
Next day we found loads of empty bottles outside, a few dumped nappies, a blocked toilet (blocked with nappies) and a pair of knickers left outside by the bins.
