I've bought a buckload of clothes at Fat Face they're all for kids and they're size 10-11 :/ but they were a total bargain!! I even have my eyes on a jacket that is £35!! The guy at the til gave me the dirtiest look ever though!

How did he know they were for you??

revolution909 · 22/10/2017 17:43

Because I asked what would be the equivalent size in "grown up clothes"

YANBU, I wish my fat arse I still fitted in kids clothes, I used to buy them all the time when I was a student.

Bombardier25966 · 22/10/2017 17:44

Could he just have a miserable face? I doubt they particularly care who the clothes are being bought for.

Fekko · 22/10/2017 17:45

As long as it's not a pink sparkly hello kitty 'I want to be a princess when I grow up!' sloganed mini dress, then I think you're ok.

sooperdooper · 22/10/2017 17:45

I doubt he cared at all, stealth boast you fit in kids clothes me'thinks Hmm

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 22/10/2017 17:53

Why are the staff in fat face going to care? As long as they're making money they won't have a problem with it.

Papafran · 22/10/2017 17:54

So what IS the equivalent size in adult's clothing? asking for a friend and probably way too large for kids clothes anyway

Apileofballyhoo · 22/10/2017 17:57

I've bought kids clothes from time to time.

WildRosesGrow · 22/10/2017 17:57

It's not like you are taking them out of the hands of children is it, you are just buying clothes that you like and that fit you. My SIL is tiny and sometimes buys herself girl's clothes, why not? I know she went to look for something for our niece once and then ended up getting it for herself, she looked nice and it was a bargain.

It's the same as my daughter buying some men's trainers as they were the ones that fitted her best, not a big deal.

revolution909 · 22/10/2017 17:59

According to the guy 12-13 is the same as size 6 as long as you have short arms/legs or you don't mind them being slightly short. Size 10-11 is apparently out of range. But my hoodie fits me perfectly!

Just compare the size charts online.

H&M teen sizes crossover into the adults. So do Zara, I think. They consider me as tall as an average 12 year old.

WhyWouldYouThinkThat · 22/10/2017 18:02

I'm suprised that you think anyone would care if you wore kids size clothing. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm sure they don't.

Fluffyears · 22/10/2017 18:03

VAT free clothes? Batter in.

Vinorosso74 · 22/10/2017 18:14

No shame at all! If they fit then why not. I was admiring the kids onesies in John Lewis the other day but think they may be snug around the hips for me.
I have had footwear from New Look kids department as they seem narrower and the heels are lower.

Vonklump · 22/10/2017 18:15

Which children's clothes do you buy in fat face for you?
I'm small, and looked at doing this a few years ago, but most of the clothes looked too young.
Care to share your finds?

Neverender · 22/10/2017 18:17

YANBU I kinda hope kids keep getting bigger!

oldlaundbooth · 22/10/2017 18:18

I buy kid's shoes from Zara. They go up to a generous size 5.

stitchglitched · 22/10/2017 18:21

YANBU. I'm a short arse so lived in kids jeans until I had babies and got fat! Often buy kids trainers too. Nobody has ever batted an eyelid though.

HulaMelody · 22/10/2017 18:22

Bargain clothes that fit? Fill your boots and don’t bother what the salespeople think.

I am constantly jealous of people with little feet who can get into kids trainers. £40 difference for a size up??!

revolution909 · 22/10/2017 18:23

Here's what I bought!

I buy Doc Martens in the children's section. They go up to 5 1/2 and have a useful zip down the inside which is easier for my arthritis. Wish I could do the same with clothes but I'm just too big built even when skinny.

revolution909 · 22/10/2017 18:27

I'm the other way around my feet are huge 6.5/7

I’ve got a Joules age 12 t-shirt that I wore until I was about 20 weeks pregnant, I’m quite tall and like my t-shirts long so god knows what 12 year old it would have fitted 😂
