Watching it again and it just loses its magic after Will dies. Plus they keep trotting out numerous men interests who are far too young for Alicia. And her botox gets worse as time goes on.

I need to watch something else now I think

jeez, after 3 years you cannot complain about a "spoiler".

3 weeks, yes, but even 3 months is iffy.

The Guardian had it covered the day after it aired in the US, that did annoy me but with hindsight it's probably good I was prepared!

Anyway, it went wrong in the last season, I think. I have no idea what they were trying to do with that frankly. It felt like a literal slap in the face for - SPOILER ALERT - Alicia and Diane to behave so bizarrely and for their lives to be reduced to what happened with the menz. There's a whole ragey podcast on it in fact.

More SPOILER ALERT - also went wrong with Kalinda going.

I am enjoying The Good Fight but More4 don't seem to be showing it any more so no idea how I will see the rest. Their social media episodes were superb.

I loved The Good Wife from the start but found I was so bored near the end and just seeing it through...and hated the ending for good measure.

Last year I was ill and bed-ridden for weeks, I discovered Suits and binge watched six seasons, so that’s filled the ‘legal drama’ gap left.

I enjoyed Goliath with Billy Bob Thornton too..that’s worth a watch.

Different kind of thing but I also liked Ozark.

Someone needs to bring out the Diane Lockhart Jewellery Collection. It would take QVC by storm.

The series went downhill after Kalinda left, best character by far followed by Diane and Eli Gold. Nathan Lane was also excellent but under utilised.

scrabbler3 · 30/10/2017 08:14

I found the storyline with Kalinda and her husband tedious and unrealistic, and fast forwarded through most of their scenes. I also disliked the smug grinning investigator (a similar sort of character to the one the actor played in Grey's). Other than that, I found TGW clever and compelling. The recurring lawyers and judges were particularly entertaining, I'm another Elspeth fan. The two teenagers were highly competent actors and the prickly MiL was superb. Lemond Bishop was a fantastic baddie, the actor played his scenes with real menace.

The spin off is very good, not a dud character in sight. I'm usually wary of spin offs because they rarely match the originals (Frasier excepted) but TGF was pitched perfectly and deserved its critical acclaim.

Something - that's a brilliant idea!

Re Kalinda husband, yes, the writers admitted that was a big mistake. It pissed me off because why can't we just have a strong female character without a history like that? So annoying.

Ah love this show
Can't believe they contributed it after Will dies
Will and Alicia are the reason j watched

Gileswithachainsaw · 28/11/2017 14:42

Well finally managed to finish it.

Will dying was pretty sad but really pissed off at how the relationship wasn't remotely believable until it was replayed through flash backs after he had died.

Alisha basically trampled over anyone and everyone so deserved the slap at the end. Which tbh was a surprise given the affair had been implied on several occasions what did she expect when she called kurt as a witness. So some would have asked those questions at some point.

I did feel sorry for alisha at the end though I mean she put everything on hold for everyone else trying to he who everyone wanted or needed her to be then ended up with no one at all
Jason.left diane hated her and that husband was a waste of time .

Why did they have to make the basin thing so heavy she was happy just having fun. Was nore believable he was a passing doing not boyfriend material.

Gileswithachainsaw · 28/11/2017 14:43

Jason thing

Stupid auto correct

dingdongdigeridoo · 28/11/2017 16:22

I would do buy a Diane jewellery collection. I might start adding statement necklaces to my skanky jumper and jeans school run ensembles.

The Kalinda thing is weird. Apparently the actors who played her and Alicia absolutely hated each other so the writers had to keep them apart. Watch the last two seasons she’s in and they are never in the same scenes, only on the phone. Even their last scene together was apparently filmed separately and they used editorial tricks to make it seem like they were both at the bar.

I am guessing that’s why she had that godawful husband storyline as it isolated her from the cast.

Gileswithachainsaw · 28/11/2017 17:03

Yeah it did all seem a bit off. But then they did the whole thing where she found out shed slept with Peter so that explained the sudden coldness...
