Is there a similar forum to MN for men? And if not, why not?

Because I think there should be.

I don't hate men though it will probably be suggested. I really don't. And I think the forum should be open to anyone who wants to use it for advice.

But....It's becoming increasingly strange around here. We've always had the 'what about the menz?' posters derailing threads talking about the harrassment or abuse of women by pointing out that women do it too..... Though it seems worse recently.

But now it seems that so many threads descend into accusations that men are treated differently on MN and often they are. But surely that's because it has a predominantly female membership? Who will see things from the female perspective?

It seems to me that it's causing division and bun-fighting among posters when I genuinely don't understand why there isn't a similar forum available for men?

Why not?

Why does a man join a predominantly female forum to then point out that they're not being treated like a woman? Or....just sit and watch as the women do it for them?

If there is no where else for them on-line then why not?

I'm sure it's possible.

For those saying the feminism threads are for both sexes you've clearly not tried to discuss male matters on there. Men are often told to fuck off as it's about Feminism not Menism.

I don't do football, fast cars, cycling or golf which means most of the male dominated sites have little to offer me. So I joined MN. However, I'm starting to feel this site isn't for me either.

I've just been on MarksandSpencer.co.uk and it has sod all to do with either Mark or Spencer. WTF!

Madreputa · 22/10/2017 16:55

There's a lot of men coming here to ask us questions about different stuff posing as women. I can spot these from a mile. I still engage with them and give them answers but I think to myself I just know you are a man.

BobtheFireman · 22/10/2017 16:56

Why on earth would you try to discuss male matters on a Feminism thread?

MongerTruffle · 22/10/2017 16:56

MN is not just about mums and hasn't been for a long time.

silverbell64 · 22/10/2017 16:56

Im sure lots of men don't do typical bloke stuff either. To be honest I'd be a bit perturbed if a bloke I was dating told me he was on mumsnet.

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 22/10/2017 16:58

Have you a link to those threads manclife it would be interesting to see how they went down.

Me too @madreputa

I bet they are coming on here (some of them!) so they can go back to their poxy dadsnet hellhole, and report on what vile and nasty dried up hags we are!

I see the ones defending men coming here have nothing to say about the vile remarks on dadsnet, (about women on mumsnet.) Funny that eh? Wink

Here's the link again, in case you missed it!

We are dried up old hags apparently. And we are a very good reason to not get married.

Indeed it would! Grin

I have my Dad, a DH, and two teenage DSs so I have all the male points of view I could possibly need, so it's not something I look out for on here.

The Sex topic seems to be overrun by enthusiastic men all wanting to give their male perspective which is a bit weird.

But unless there's a clue in the NN or they make a huge 'man here' announcement you don't know who is male on here anyway.

KrytensNanobots · 22/10/2017 17:03

I couldn't give a toss what people are saying on other websites that aren't MN. I'm not on there, am I? I like this one.
If they're saying women hate men and want them to fuck off out, or something, then I think this thread is gold for them!

BobtheFireman · 22/10/2017 17:03

Oh they're fairly easy to spot. One on here at the moment.

JonSnowsWife · 22/10/2017 17:04

Yes HateHomework it is.

And there already is one.

sunandmoonshine · 22/10/2017 17:04

Yeah I bet men have a field day looking at the sex topics on here.

A few threads have been made on here asking questions like 'how do you wash your vagina?' and suchlike.

It was SO obvious it was a (kinky, pervy) man! Why the FUCK would any woman post a thread asking that for fuck's sake?!

BobtheFireman · 22/10/2017 17:06

Basically men don't like us having a female dominated board. It makes their balls shrink.

I love that this site is female dominated. Far more intelligent debate.

sunandmoonshine · 22/10/2017 17:08

@Krytensnanobots

I couldn't give a toss what people are saying on other websites that aren't MN. I'm not on there, am I? I like this one.

Yeah of COURSE you don't give a toss, conveniently!

I think that's what is known as 'selective rage.' Only being angry and miffed about things that suit YOU, and when they suit YOU.

JonSnowsWife · 22/10/2017 17:08

sunandmoonshine I'm still crossing my legs in sympathy from that tea tree thread! Grin

KrytensNanobots · 22/10/2017 17:09

Why be cryptic?
If that's to me, I'm a married mum with two children.

sunandmoonshine · 22/10/2017 17:10

I have to agree @Bobthefireman. It is much more interesting and intelligent debate here. (Usually!)

I have surfed through 'mens' sites before, and they are full of shit. Boring, monotonous garbage, and men talking crap. And being fucking vile about women. I mean VILE. Calling them dried up old hags and all sorts.

Sparklingbrook · 22/10/2017 17:10

I CBA to scroll up and look. Grin

KrytensNanobots · 22/10/2017 17:11

Why would I get worked up about what people are saying on a completely different website that's nothing to do with Mumsnet?
If they're slagging off women, how is that any different to mums on mumsnet slagging off men?
I

sunandmoonshine · 22/10/2017 17:12

Yep didn't think you would have anything to say about the vile shit being said about women on DADSNET @krytensnaobots#

Very convenient.

BlackForestCake · 22/10/2017 17:12

Can you imagine a men’s forum ever in a million years having a section called “am I being unreasonable?”

KrytensNanobots · 22/10/2017 17:13

The link posted was to a site called Pistonheads. How is that Dadsnet?

silverbell64 · 22/10/2017 17:13

Whats "selective" rage? What will piss me off won't necessarily piss someone else off.

KrytensNanobots · 22/10/2017 17:14

I've looked at the Dadsnet forum on here. Which bit do you mean?
